‘Lucifer’ Season 5 Review: “Best Season Ever”

It’s the day Lucifans! The first part of Lucifer season 5 is out and, finally, you know all the surprises that it brings us and you have been able to get excited, scream and freaking out with this show. We can finally share all the emotions together. This’s the best season to date.We have a lot to talk about so grab some popcorn and….

Here we go!

I’M NOT GOING TO RUIN LUCIFER’S LIFE, I’M GOING TO KEEP IT

To talk about this season, the first thing we have to do is talk about Michael. God how I hate this guy! #Michaelisadick. But it’s Tom Ellis so my heart is divided.

Putting aside my fascination with this man, I have to say that I was very surprised with this plot. Like most, I was scared about where they were going with all this and how they were going to take it.

The downside with these kinds of identical twin plots is that they can go over the red line in terms of consent, along with all that that implies, thus “tainting” a story as beautiful as #Deckerstar’s. That was an unlikely option, given that this show is not Game of Thrones or Outlander style, but an option after all since they could make fun of the fans a little more and lengthen the agony.

The next option was a love triangle and I have my problems with this type of plot because it’s so obvious and so little novel … also, after 4 years of suffering, it wasn’t the time to repeat another love triangle (Eve, I’m looking at you) and wouldn’t have fit the story well either.

So yes, I was scared. It was an intricate story, difficult to balance on screen and tremendously difficult to execute. That is why I’m so proud of them for surprising me so much. This story is one of the best surprises of the season. You really feel like writers are smarter than you, don’t you love that feeling? I do. That was what I felt throughout the season with Michael.

The way in which Chloe from the first moment feels that something is not right is tremendously revealing, it talks about what it is like to know a person so much, to be so connected with someone that you immediately feel that something doesn’t fit, it talks about soulmates. She wanted to believe Michael’s lies, they made sense, they were good lies, but deep down she knew that there was something too different in him, she couldn’t find in Michael the essence of the man she fell in love with.

Michael was like an empty shell, he looked like Lucifer, he spoke like Lucifer, he even acted like him (or he tried, lying was a great failure in his theater) but he just wasn’t him … something, his essence, what It made who he is, it just wasn’t there. Chloe couldn’t put it into words, it was just the feeling that the man before her appeared to be someone he would never be. The feeling that the love of her life was missing.

But she wanted so much, but so much to believe it, she clung to that ray of hope. Because believing Michael meant that Lucifer was there, again, next to her, and that he wasn’t gone forever, believing Michael meant that there was hope. But then she saw him with Maze and she knew: he wasn’t Lucifer because he would never do something like that to her. He would never break her heart like that. He would rather die than hurt her and Chloe knows it. She knows it as clearly as the sun rises and sets every day. It’s then that her hope is extinguished, she doesn’t know who the person posing as Lucifer is and what he is doing there, but she is sure that it is not him. Just as she is sure that Lucifer will surely not return.

So she sets out to unmask the intruder by playing his same game: manipulation. And she succeeds. Michael is so arrogant that he really thinks Chloe prefers him. That is his weak point, always believing himself better than his brother and doing whatever it takes to really feel that he is. So Chloe puts on a fully rehearsed seduction scene only to get Michael into the same game, even if the audience doesn’t know it yet.

But this scene, this scene is so well put together. But so good. Because, although the audience may not know that it is all a sham to get Michael, we can feel that our Chloe would not act that way, and that gives us a very subtle clue of what they are doing here.

Later, we see one of Chloe’s best speeches in the entire show. Her faith in Lucifer, her faith in what they have, that their love can overcome the barrier of space, time, heaven and hell is so emotional. This is what I meant when I mentioned Deckerstar feels. They don’t have to be together in the same scene, this love, this pure love is simply felt in every word of Chloe and moves to tears.

She knows that Lucifer may never return but she doesn’t care, she will never stop loving him, she will never stop longing for him and no one can replace him, simply because no one can make her feel what he makes her feel with just one look, one smile, a caress. The love and magic they share is so special, that no matter all the obstacles or trials or heavenly follies or changes they go through, it will never change. It’s immutable. They are unbreakable. They are incredible.

Is beautiful. It is simply gorgeous. In fact, if you look at the detail, when Michael approaches her from behind and touches her arm, she takes a little jump. That touch is not Lucifer’s soothing, electrifying touch, that touch that makes sparks fly and your heart race for more, it is a different touch, from an unknown enemy. And the way in which they have winked at the couple’s past, the bullet necklace (she even picks it up in her hands and turns it, brings it to her lips, kisses it, remembering, remembering him), the farewell so heartbreaking … remembering all the way that has led them to where they are. The way this scene is interpreted and made is brilliant that even these small details are taken care of.

And it felt so good when Chloe shot Michael multiple times, I felt better when she did, that’s my girl! But, how could it be otherwise, when our heart can barely contain the feels, everything takes a turn. Miguel, with a face of indescribable pleasure, drops the bomb on Chloe that she’s a gift made by God especially for Lucifer. She doesn’t believe him, she wants so badly not to believe him… but deep down, she knows that he’s not lying. And this will bring several problems in Deckerstar relationship that we will discuss a little later.

However, as you know, everything ends perfectly well and as we dreamed it would end: with Chloe hating Miguel as much as we do and giving Lucifer a movie kiss that we will also talk about later. Very proud of our Chloe. Proud mama here!

For now, let’s get on with Michael. Chloe and her reaction have been one of the highlights of the season. But there is more, much more about Michael. The writers weren’t just smart about Chloe, but about everyone else as well. Amenadiel, as soon as he really thinks about things, he realizes who he is and gives Michael where it hurts the most: his exacerbated ego and his attempt to be better than Lucifer because deep down he knows that he never will be. I loved seeing Amenadiel defend Lucifer so much, it speaks a lot about the evolution of the relationship between both characters.

Linda also feels that something strange is happening … although they do not delve too deeply into it. The same goes for Dan, who is more than delighted that “Lucifer” is being kinder to him. As for Maze… well, we’ll talk about her and Dan a little later.

It was time to analyze the character of Michael himself. And the first thing I have to say is that Tom Ellis deserves a round of applause. You can see the difference between both characters just by looking at them. Their eyes are different, their expressions are different, even the way they move is. Tom had a tremendous challenge ahead of him and he has more than met it. In addition, the scenes are, again, very well done because there is always an extra complication when an actor plays two characters when putting them on screen at the same time and they could not do better.

The construction of the character at the moment is simple but powerful. We must not forget that this is only the middle of the season so there is a bit of an introduction here. At the moment, Michael is a character who is made to be hated (and we do). You see no humanity or a reason deeper than envy and jealousy (caused by the poor opinion he actually has of himself) for doing what he does.

The only time I saw a fleeting humanity and genuine surprise on him was when Chloe made him believe that she liked him more than Lucifer. I think somehow he felt that she was the only person who ever felt that (since neither his brothers, nor even his father made him feel that they valued him more than Lucifer, rather the opposite) and that is the which is why he doesn’t want to break her heart if not…really take a chance with her (although, of course, no one can. Wrong girl, Michael, she’s already caught).

I think Michael has always felt that everyone preferred Lucifer. He may have fallen, he may have been condemned to spend eternity in hell, but still, he has the affection and love of his brothers… and of a really important figure: his father. Michael envies Lucifer for that reason, he wants to achieve with lies and manipulations everything that he considers he has. For that reason, he encouraged Lucifer to rebel or to take a vacation on earth (Lucifer’s reaction to this is gold, he did not expect to have fallen into his brother’s manipulations for so long). Miguel hoped those actions would make his brothers and father hate, despise, and push him away, but even though he thought he succeeded, he never did. Lucifer leaves an indelible mark on everyone he meets that he can never leave. He knows it and it’s killing him.

So when Miguel is aware of Chloe’s manipulation, that the only person who thought he would choose him over Lucifer was deceiving him, when he realized that it was all a lie, he had no consideration with her. Miguel wanted to damage Chloe and her relationship with Lucifer forever, just for her to feel the same pain that he was feeling, that he had felt all his life. Thus, by kidnapping Chloe in the end, he wants to harm both of them, both her and, at the same time, torture Lucifer. It is Machiavellian.

Manipulation and lying is constant in Miguel’s life. He manipulates them all at will, wanting to destroy his brother and all the love he has earned from those around him. Wanting to strip him of everything piece by piece. That’s why he makes Dan shoot Lucifer and manipulates Maze in a way that makes her feel like the only way to achieve what she wants is to betray the ones she loves the most. Hurting Lucifer like this because he knows how much a betrayal of her will hurt him. But we’ll get back to that soon.

I’m concerned and intrigued by this great plan Miguel talks about. It is something that is mentioned in passing but we don’t really know what it is about. I doubt he’s talking about destroying Lucifer’s life, it’s something much bigger and more sinister. In fact, perhaps Miguel’s power in the silver city is not as much as Amenadiel thinks or not as much as he wishes to have (we all agree that he is ambitious). But what could he be planning?

In short, Miguel is a very well built character, with a good base and wonderfully interpreted that is going to give us even better moments than he has given us and the way in which they have carried his story, surprising us at every step is masterful.

WE’RE INCREDIBLE

Is that the best line of the season? It’s the best line of the season. Surely we all agree on that. As I mentioned, it is the best Deckerstar season so far.

Now you understand what I meant when I commented that they are taking a step forward on the road. Of course, nothing is finished yet and they have much to discover together, but now the show has chosen a clear path and they just have to follow it.

Until now, the series had been revolving around the question “will they be together?” but this season poses something very different. For both of them, they were already together, even though Lucifer was in hell and Chloe was on earth. That didn’t matter. Yes, they had some things to figure out, but neither of them doubted that if they ever met again, there would be no more dancing around each other.

That made this season different and that we could explore other very different emotions with them. Now it was not about whether they wanted to be together but to embrace what they felt and take that leap of faith. To overcome the fears, insecurities, vertigo, excitement and chills that a new relationship – and more with a heavenly being like Lucifer – implies. And simply learn to be together, to share everything together. It’s just that these two are so fucking in love with each other that it makes you want to hug them.

But to get to that moment they had to overcome some obstacles. As we mentioned before, Miguel wanted to do irreparable damage and dropped the bomb on Chloe that she was a divine gift made just for Lucifer. But we go in parts.

At the beginning of the season, how could it be otherwise, both are separated but needing each other more than ever. Chloe takes refuge in her safe place: work and the only thing she has left of him (LUX). This way she feels closer to Lucifer, so she can pretend that he is still there. LUX still has that essence of him. She continues to feel his presence there and can pretend, if only for a moment, that he has never left.

Meanwhile, Lucifer lives his own kind of torture in hell. He misses her and just being there, without her, for all eternity, is too cruel a punishment. The moment in which Lucifer says “return to your torture …I will return to mine” speaks for itself. Just like the way he sighs full of pain, nostalgia and love and his eyes shine from everything he hides when his demons create the illusion that they are in Los Angeles, next to her. He misses her so much… and, like Chloe does with LUX, he takes refuge in the work they did to feel a little closer to her, to feel that he is still by her side.

The last scene of the premiere is so powerful and revealing. Lucifer analyzes his own feelings. He had to protect all of them, protect her (when he yells it makes my hair stand on end of everything he makes me feel), yes, but a part of him is afraid that, if he comes back, that, if he had stayed, in the end, he would have ruined the best thing that happened to him in life. The best he has. The best of himself, as he already ruined it other times. He is afraid that he has hurt Chloe. It is a legitimate fear that we all feel at times, that of ruining things when everything seems to be going well, of hurting the person we love. Of course, that fear is unfounded, but fears are not rational or logical and feed off of our worst fears.

I have to add that I love Lucifer’s trust in Chloe. When he knows she may be in trouble, he wants so badly to go and protect her… but his fear and trust in her make him stay. She will figure it out. Lucifer has always thought that Chloe doesn’t need him as much as he needs her. Lucifer knows that he is dead alive without her and accepts it. But he trusts Chloe to move on, to make it through without him, even though he can’t live without her. What this fool in love didn’t realize is that neither of them feel complete without the other.

As we already analyzed before what happened between Miguel and Chloe and what that meant for Deckerstar, we go directly to one of the most anticipated moments: their reunion (applause to Amenadiel for going to take out our favorite devil, and also us, from his torture).

When he returns, their reunion is special. The first place Lucifer goes is to her and when he’s watching her work, when he’s just looking at her… he smiles and his eyes soften. He is finally home.

Once Chloe realizes that she is in front of the real Lucifer, all of her also softens and touches him, hugs him, feels him … and they both breathe again. To truly breathe. To live. Because they have found their home. All that time apart they have been lost, adrift torturing each other. And they simply touch, their hands, their eyes connect… they want to say so many things, do so many things… but they only look at each other because with that look they are saying everything. No need for words. And he is so proud that she realized that Michael was an imposter. So proud of her strength, of her intelligence, of all of her.

But, how could it be otherwise, happiness does not last long. Chloe sees a ray of hope when Lucifer tells her that everything that comes out of Michael’s mouth is a lie. Maybe … maybe her instincts are wrong for once and what he told her about being a divine gift is also wrong … but Lucifer confirms that it is true. And that he knew it. This hurts doubly. On the one hand, she must wrap her head around the fact of being a gift made for someone else, that is, not even a person, a human, if not … a thing made for someone else. Her life is not her, it was simply designed that way, without free will.

At the same time, she must accept that Lucifer hid such a big secret from her. A secret that changes everything, just as it did for him at the time (let’s remember his express trip to Las Vegas). It changes everything because Chloe comes to the same conclusion as Lucifer: if everything was designed to happen like this, nothing is real. Lucifer took a while to understand that it was. That what they have is the most real thing that can exist. But Chloe just found out and she’s not there yet.

So Chloe feels confused, hurt, angry, and even betrayed. Everything at once. It is as if someone has opened a hole under your feet, in the very center of the universe. Right now she wants so much to kiss Lucifer and just be with him … but, at the same time, she doesn’t even want to see him, she wants him to disappear. That is the reason why she pushes him away, but at the same time, she is terrified that he will leave before they can solve everything and she jumps a little scared every time she thinks that he has been able to leave. And I understand her.

Here’s the thing with this season: we can understand all the characters because they all have a point of reason and that speaks to how well constructed the characters’ emotional journeys are in the season.

For all this, the fight scene at the end of episode 3 hurts a lot more. Lucifer has just had a fight with Michael (we point out that, despite everything, he doesn’t kill him, he only hurts him) and seeks refuge in his home: with Chloe. And she tries to be there for him, but… she just can’t. It’s too much. Then Lucifer loses his temper. He loves her. They love each other. He wants her to get over it (just like he has done about Miguel and his disgusting hands in his life), that they be together and their reunion is like the one he has dreamed of all that time of torture in hell. Like the reunion that he savored every time he closed his eyes and relived in his mind when they were open.

However, Chloe can’t. Not at that time. Yes, Lucifer is dealing with uncomfortable truths about his past, but he’s so used to it… she’s not. She loves the devil and there are still times that she can’t believe it, but just when she just accepts it and is ready to move on, she must face another bomb that shakes everything up. I love both of them in this scene. They are both right, we understand the position of the two, they are both screaming, almost destroying each other because it hurts, they are suffering, they are breaking in two and they want to just hug and kiss, but there are so many things that prevent them. They’re inches apart now, but they feel further away than when Lucifer was in hell. It breaks our heart. And we can’t stop crying.

Lucifer can’t help but try to reach Chloe by all means, he just hopes that Trixie is right and that with a conversation and with time, everything will be solved. So we come to my second favorite episode of the season, episode 5. Lucifer is desperate to fix things with Chloe. He can’t bear to lose her, it’s too painful to even think about it. So he does everything.

He even tries to get Chloe to repeat the same catharsis he felt when he burned his wings. He takes her to the beach and offers her a catharsis based on fire, but… that’s not what she needs. Chloe needs to think, she needs time to wrap her head around everything. And just walk away from heavenly matters for a minute. It’s not something Lucifer likes, but he resigns himself to doing it, hoping that, as always, when the case is over, everything will be fine again.

However, in the end, for once Lucifer understands something without Linda: there are no shortcuts in this. He will give Chloe the time she needs and he just waits, he hopes that she will get over it, that they will get over it … even though he knows not doing it is a possibility. Even if that destroys him, the only important thing is her. Speaking of character growth, proud mama here, again!

Although Chloe wants to get away from everything heavenly, the case contradicts her and not only must she solve her problems with God by interacting with nuns but that also leads her to work with Amenadiel … which makes her end up finding out that it was he who, following his father’s orders, blessed her mother. So that definitely makes her walk away from heavenly siblings … or so she thinks, because when you get into that shit, you can’t get out, girl.

While Ella represents Deckerstar fandom, Amenadiel is our guardian angel, much more in this episode. He wants to help Lucifer and Chloe be together. He wishs had the answers she seeks to make everything easier, but he never asked. However, sometimes the answers appear when you least look for them. His experience with the nuns has given Amenadiel a new perspective. They saw their love for God reflected in him… just as it happens to everyone with Lucifer. They see their greatest desires reflected in him.

But not Chloe. Because Chloe is the only person who sees him. Really see him, not what she wants him to be. Only him. That imperfect celestial being, who drives her crazy and who is so wonderful. That’s The gift. Also, why does Lucifer become vulnerable in her presence? It is a question we always had and here is the answer: Lucifer chooses to be vulnerable by her side. It is a metaphor for their relationship, as we all choose to be vulnerable with the person we love. Lucifer was choosing to be with her from the beginning, Lucifer chose her from the beginning.

This. Thats what I refer. They finally give us all these answers and they are so good. It is nothing like we had imagined. They have surprised us but, at the same time, it is everything we would have dreamed of because it speaks so much and so deeply of the love that this couple feels for each other, of how endgame they are. It is perfect. It is simply our dreams come true.

After this revelation, everything turns around and changes again for Chloe. She’s finally on the same page as Lucifer. What both feel, what both have, couldn’t be more real. It couldn’t be more authentic. So, just like Lucifer chose her from the beginning, she chooses him. Choose to be vulnerable by his side, choose to lower her defenses and just feel. She goes to find Lucifer to tell him.

He is at the piano playing a sad and gloomy melody, a melody that speaks of losses and matches his mood. He feels more than ever, more than when he was in hell, that he may lose Chloe. To the love of his life. But he also knows that he must respect her decision, even if it tears him up inside.

Then she arrives, looks him in the eyes and tells him in the most sincere and pure way everything she feels and for Lucifer it is as if his whole world were once again in color.

As if everything were working again within himself, as if his heart were beating again. And whispers “inspector” almost like a wish, afraid that everything is a dream and she disappears. It is a plea: Don’t go. Please, stay.

And she stays. They join their lips in a short kiss, just to check that everything is real. And then in a longer, more passionate, more wild kiss, a kiss that they have longed for a long time.

So, we come to my favorite episode of the entire season. As you know, it’s episode 6. Now everything has changed between them. They feel closer, more secure, and just want to be together in every sense of the word. Until an idiot arrives (whose name I don’t even want to remember) to ruin everything. He is an ex-boyfriend of Chloe who is still interested in her and seeing them so close, jealousy is aroused in Lucifer. Now that they’ve gotten together, he doesn’t plan to let her slip through his fingers. Let’s face it: we LOVE seeing Lucifer jealous. It’s fun, a welcome change, and we love seeing how in love he is with Chloe.

But disappointment soon comes when Lucifer has to listen to Chloe deny what they have, what they both are, and tell him that she’s not exactly sure about them yet. Lucifer’s face here… I want to hold him very tight. It’s like a nightmare come true for him. He is so clear about how he feels about Chloe, what they are to each other, but it seems that she doesn’t and that hurts him. It is like a knife stuck in his heart.

I have to say I got pretty pissed off at Chloe at this point. After everything they’ve been through, how does she come up with saying that? Has no sense. I also see her a little too fascinated with that idiot, which gives him wings for his fantasies of getting back with her. I guess it’s her first love and, as Dan says, a part of her will always be hooked because isn’t that always the case?

Of course, all of this only increases Lucifer’s fear of losing her and he commits the folly and recklessness of not using the brain his father gave him. So he listens to the idiot that all he wants is to make them break up and walk away. He lets himself be manipulated by him and that confuses and hurts Chloe because she doesn’t want to lose him either and she feels Lucifer far away …

In the end, when Lucifer realizes that he has behaved like an idiot, his devilish side resurfaces and we cannot like this more. Give the asshole what he deserves, Luci!

Chloe is bewildered, hurt, and angry all at the same time. Lucifer drives her crazy, he is a challenge, a challenge and she will probably never understand all the heavenly insanities that surround him, but she loves him, she just cannot imagine a life without him. Because he is incredible. Because they are incredible.

That speech is another stellar moment in the season. And the idiot finally realizes that this girl is already caught. It is complicated, yes, but in reality it is not that much. It’s just her and him and what they feel for each other.

In the last minutes of the episode these two idiots in love are finally in the middle of the road. They both apologize at the same time. And this is perfect. Because it is so important, but so important. This would have been unthinkable just a season or two ago. Talk about how much they have grown up as characters and as a couple. Of the evolution of their relationship.

And the apology is precious and necessary. At the end of the day, both have been carried away by the same fear: the panic they have to lose the other.

Lucifer shouldn’t have been manipulated by the Moron DJ and Chloe shouldn’t have denied who they are simply because she’s terrified of what that means. How important and momentous their relationship is, what Lucifer means to her. But that is true love, it is terrifying, it is scary because you give up all the power, the other person has the capacity to destroy you, to hurt you… but it is worth living it, it is worth feeling it. And she knows it. So no more fears, no more doubts. Only them. Because they are incredible.

AND THIS IS WHEN IT HAPPENS. What we have all been waiting for for over 4 years: Hell freezes over and the two of them are finally sleeping together. This scene is so well cared for, so well done. Lucifer has slept with many women and men throughout the series, but this is different.

The eyes of both are connected in every moment. That intimate way they touch and feel. The fact that he looks at her, as if asking her permission and that she gives it to him without words and it is then, and only then, when he joins their hands and guides her to the bed. And so it is without letting go of their hands, that they caress, touch, kiss, drink from each other and do magic together. The reverent way in which he only turns away for a second and contemplates her, leaving their hands joined, almost unable to believe that this is happening, that she is by his side, almost venerating her, with the love he feels for her overflowing his eyes … and then say “incredible“. Yes they are. That is why we love them.

This scene gives us so many feels. It is pure magic. They have had the grace to make it totally different from what they had shown before. So pointing out that Chloe is not just one more, she is THE ONE. Making it clear how special this relationship is, how important it is. What are endgame. And they have done it with such delicacy, with such subtlety, with such care … it is impossible not to get excited when seeing it. This episode is THE episode, without a doubt. And I want more. In fact, it’s the only flaw I see, that I needed more. It is not a show that shows explicit scenes, but I would have liked to see something else, just because we had to wait. But the scene is so perfect.

THEY’RE SOULMATES

Amen, Maze! That’s just what they are. After their passionate night, we woke up the next morning just as happy as Chloe and Lucifer because… hell froze! And after a few little cuddles and jokes that keep our like eyes heart all the time, something happens. Chloe manages to elicit Lucifer’s desires. And so begins a tug of war between the two, including couples therapy, about the loss of Lucifer’s mojo, that Chloe has that power over him and what this means for them.

Chloe fears that Lucifer is hindering their relationship right away and that he is refusing to share anything with her. At the end of the day, relationships are about that, sharing everything together without losing yourself in the process, as Linda recalls. In a relationship you give part of your power to leave it in the hands of the other and that scares. You have to learn to balance that without feeling that you are being diluted in the process.

However, the real problem Lucifer has with all of this is revealed in the end: He doesn’t think he’s good enough for Chloe. That’s why he’s terrified of losing his mojo because he thinks it’s the only thing that makes him special, the only thing that makes Chloe need him at work, which is how they met. If he loses it, won’t he loses an important part of their relationship too?

Lucifer feels that he is not up to Chloe’s height so he looks for something that is “special” to try to get there, so that she needs him and doesn’t realize that she could do everything perfectly without him because she doesn’t need him(again, this thought that Chloe doesn’t need him as much as he needs her). But then again, what this crushing idiot doesn’t realize is that Chloe doesn’t need him because of his mojo, she needs him because he’s, well, him, and she loves him. Lucifer’s contempt for himself comes out again here, not valuing himself. Chloe always tries to make him feel needed, valued… because that’s what she feels. He is so strong physically, but, at the same time, so fragile, sometimes she forgets this.

Once everything is over, together they inaugurate a new routine: domestic life in Lucifer’s attic. And we can die in peace after this! Together, in a beautiful scene both for its symbolism and for the way it was shot, they reflect on what has happened. That she has that effect on Lucifer… it can be very good. It’s a sign that he’s letting her in. Another sign that he chooses her. He chooses her so that she can see his fears, his frailties, his desires … all of him. Her and only her. He is letting her enter more and more into his heart, into his soul. Lucifer hadn’t thought of it that way, but it makes sense and he likes it… he wants to be vulnerable with her. It is with the only person he wants to be.

I have to say that I don’t entirely agree with what Chloe says here. I think Lucifer has been letting her in, letting her penetrate the shell that covers his heart from the beginning. That is why he chose to be vulnerable with her and that he has shared so much more with her than with anyone else. She is the reason for everything. As it is, I really like the dialogue, but I don’t think Lucifer is letting her in now, if not that he has been doing it since the beginning unconsciously, and now that they are together he is letting her in even more deeply.

When it seemed that another night in which hell was going to freeze awaited us, Dan shows up to spoil the fun and leave us with our hearts in our mouths and screaming in desperation and terror, just like Chloe.

She was present when Dan shoots Lucifer so we all wait that at least he is hurt… but he is not. He’s invulnerable and while Chloe is glad he’s not dead, she really pleads because that second she thought she’d lost him was hell itself, she can’t help but be afraid of what this might mean.

Only bad things happen when this couple separates, even for a short time. Chloe is kidnapped and Lucifer is desperate to find her while feeling guilty for leaving her alone. He knows that he should have been with her and he cannot forgive himself for not doing it. He starts a race against the clock to find her and actually feels like dying when he thinks he will find her dead. The anguish on his face, the pain, the suffering … we all feel it with him.

In the end, the one who kidnapped Chloe could be none other than Michael, forcing Dan and Lucifer to work together to find her. Meanwhile, Michael again manipulates Chloe’s fear. The fear of losing Lucifer, the fear that he will not feel the same as her. After all, they both fear just the same thing. But Chloe … she thinks she has reason to think so because Lucifer didn’t say “I love you” which she did.

And it is true that he didn’t say those words, but he has shown it so many times … he even said something better. He told her that she was his first love. That it was always her. Chloe didn’t understand it, but Lucifer here was declaring his love for her. Eve didn’t mean anything. Nor any other. Only her. She is the reason for everything. The reason he’s on earth, the reason he stayed, the reason he doesn’t want to leave. His anchor. She has his heart, even his soul. She has all of him. Because his whole being belongs to her. It may not be I love you, but if this is not a declaration of love, what is. Aside from all the things Lucifer has done for her that Chloe doesn’t know yet (we hope that will change soon).

Also, I think Lucifer didn’t utter those exact words because he doesn’t think they encompass everything he feels for her and also out of fear. Saying them means giving Chloe so much power … it would mean that, if his fears are true and she doesn’t feel the same for him, that would destroy him beyond repair and he doesn’t feel completely ready, he prefers to maintain the appearance that a rejection of her would not destroy him completely, even if deep down he knows it is not true. He prefers to maintain the appearance that he controls something. But this is what happens with love, we don’t control anything.

Chloe, for her part, needs to hear these words. She has not yet understood the meaning of everything Lucifer has said and done for her and needs to hear it from his lips in a more traditional way. Those words are like the panacea. The only thing that will dispel doubts, fears. And the fear that Lucifer didn’t tell her adds to the fear that he’s no longer letting her in and somehow rejects her, rejects their relationship. That gives Michael all kinds of ammunition to play with her head.

Lucifer manages to reach her and, then, all those fears disappear by looking into his eyes, by hugging him, by kissing him. Dan is amazed watching them (same here, Dan!) Because he is able to feel, to see, how Chloe loves him and how he does too. He has seen how his voice became more tender, more affectionate, full of love, how strong he has hugged her, the relief in his eyes and the guilt he feels for leaving her alone and because his family affairs always reach her, reach them. He has seen it all. Dan has come to realize that they are soulmates and that there is nothing more authentic than that. That love they feel and the magic they share.

But … why does Lucifer decide not to be vulnerable with her? My theory is that since they are together now, he is emotionally vulnerable to her, therefore physical vulnerability is no longer necessary.

After this, comes the smile and the look of pride, love and relief on Lucifer’s face as she thanks everyone for looking for her and finding her. There is a moment when Chloe looks directly at him, their eyes connect and she only talks to him, she only talks to him. The perfect moment.

After this, comes the talk. Seeing Lucifer all of Chloe’s fears have disappeared. Relief and love have replaced them, but now that the situation is calmer, those fears have returned and she needs… she needs to get out of doubt. Like Lucifer who feels that he has to ask for forgiveness because his crazy and heavenly family always makes her suffer. When Chloe starts talking and expressing her fears, Lucifer doesn’t understand what he wants to say to her. As with Maze, he takes things for granted and doesn’t see it necessary to simply say that because, for him, it is so obvious, it is all there, you just have to look, he doesn’t understand that people really need to hear everything from his mouth.

When he finally gets it, for him it’s … hard just to say it and his attempts to fix that make Chloe’s worst fears, worst nightmares, confirmed. He doesn’t know how to lie so he tries to hurt her as little as possible, but… he doesn’t feel the same way she does.

When Lucifer feels her suffer like this, when he feels that she doesn’t understand what he means and that he is losing her, he calls her by her name, Chloe. She had lowered her head, defeated, trying to maintain her composure, trying not to collapse and make it look like she was broken into a thousand pieces, but when Lucifer says her name, she immediately raises her head. He never says her name unless it is something important and what he is going to say is totally serious. A little hope is born in her heart and just when Lucifer starts saying those words, time freezes and Chloe with it.

This is when we all shout together “NOOOOOOO!” to the screen and we want to do something, whatever, to keep the scene going, including Lucifer who is totally pissed off. But it will not be until the second part of the season that this story will continue. CAN’T WAIT!

As you can see, much of the season focuses on the couple and they really move forward in the relationship and overcome the fears, insecurities and those little demons that always come with a new relationship, while building a path together.

They have given Lauren (Chloe) a lot to work with this season. Many emotions, many reactions, many feelings to express and the good thing is that we understand her so much. Everything she does or says makes sense. With Lucifer it also happens and the growth that this season has had is wonderful. He is learning to embrace that human part of him and to be in a relationship but for Chloe I feel especially proud because she is also learning, overcoming fears and, at the same time, trying not to get carried away by her insecurities and she is so smart. And their reactions are so human. I LOVE THESE TWO!

The season is not without suffering with them (in fact, everything can be seen in their faces, in the inflections of their voices, in their expressions), tears, but happy moments too and, as you have seen, the love between they are shown every second, even when they are separated or estranged, even in that final scene that leaves the relationship in a fragile state, waiting for Lucifer to dispel all of Chloe’s fears and viceversa. They‘re endgame, there is no doubt about it and the producers have not been able to make it clearer.

HE’S THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS BEEN SINCERE WITH ME

Now let’s talk about Maze. Yes, I understand that you must be disappointed with her, a part of me is too. But another part of me understands what she’s doing, even if I don’t share it.

She feels so abandoned, so neglected by everyone, so… stuck. See everyone move forward in some way, without her. Linda and Amenadiel have a son, Lucifer and Chloe are in love… she feels that everyone, in one way or another, leaves her. In the end, they all disappear, sooner or later. Why shouldn’t they if even her mother disappeared? And she never regretted it.

Maze feels that no one considers her good enough to take the time to stay. Her mother did not. When she went to see her, she was not sorry, on the contrary, she was happy about what she had done. That she didn’t need anyone. But there is the crux of the matter. She needs

them. To all. Because she is not a bitch without feelings like Lilith and we all need the people we love, they are part of who we are.

But seeing her mother so … happy that she didn’t need anyone, she wanted to show her that she’s right. She didn’t need anyone … not even her. Not even a mother. But of course this is not true. Maze needs her mother, she always needed her. And she needed closure with her. She needed to tell her everything she feels. That she hates her, that she despises her … but that she always needed her, that she always loved her, even though she despised herself for it. But Maze couldn’t have that closure. Her mother dies before she could. And that is killing her.

She needs… to feel like she’s important to someone. She wasn’t for her mother and she can barely wrap her head and heart around it. At first, she thought she was someone important to Lucifer, but the way he speaks to her, disregards her wishes, makes her feel … horrible and unimportant. That’s why I was telling you that Lucifer’s biggest flaw is that sometimes he says all the wrong things because he doesn’t think what he’s saying.

For Lucifer, Maze is someone very important, he is his family, of course he cares, of course he loves her but she needs to listen to him and he does not know how to tell her because he does not know how to treat her. Maze was destined to be his servant but she became a friend, a sister. She stopped being her servant and now she’s just … Maze. But Lucifer is not very good with sentimental matters so he does not know how to make Maze see that she is one of the most important people in his life. Lucifer doesn’t even know that she needs to hear him (we know he’s not very good at picking up on these things) but she does. She needs to feel loved.

And it’s just the opposite of what she feels when she talks to Lucifer. She sees it as a betrayal that he did not count on her to return to hell. Her home. In fact, the scene where she smashes the piano (something so dear to him) and smashes herself into pieces, allowing herself to cry, is very revealing. It says it all without words. For Lucifer it is simpler than that, she could go whenever she wanted, she only had to ask Amenadiel, Maze is no longer his servant so he was only leaving her freedom for her to make the decision. Again, Lucifer says the wrong things but without realizing it.

The same thing happens when she tells him about her greatest desire: to get a soul. Lucifer was just stating one fact: it is impossible for a demon. But Maze sees in those words a contempt for who she is, because she doesn’t feel that Lucifer takes her seriously, she doesn’t feel that he cares about her. That she matters. For Lucifer she does, and a lot (in fact, just look at Lucifer’s shocked face when Maze talks to him about how she feels in the middle of the final fight, he’s surprised because he can’t understand how Maze can think of such a thing). But he doesn’t tell her and Maze needs to hear him. All of this will surely end in a long and necessary conversation between the two. They just have to talk. Everything would have been avoided if they had.

And, of course, the great secret that Lucifer kept about Lilith. He gave his word to Maze’s mother but here she also feels betrayed by Lucifer because she deserved the truth, she has always been by his side and deserved to know everything. And this really pissed me off. Why did Lilith’s bitch have to get Lucifer into this mess?

I can’t stand or understand her abandoning her children simply for the fun of it and boasting about it and getting Lucifer in trouble here. Can’t stand Lilith. I don’t understand her and I don’t want to. It wasn’t about fear or not being prepared … it was just a twisted thought. Maze deserves better than her.

Of course, Chloe is also involved in building Maze’s journey this season. After the loss of Lucifer and Eve, both take refuge in each other, creating a vicious cycle of parties, alcohol, excesses and detective work. It is not something that benefits either of them. They are trying not to think and not feel … but nothing disappears, they must face the truth. That kiss Maze gives Chloe is a desperate attempt not to lose that when it felt like it was getting out of hand.

And for all that, Chloe decides to stop this self-destructive situation. And she is right. They had to stop but Maze is right here too. It is one thing for them to stop that destructive cycle in which they are both involved and quite another for simply leaving your friend alone and abandoning her. Because that’s how Maze feels, abandoned. I understand Chloe’s need for emotional detachment but there is a middle ground that I think was the right one.

Of course, Maze’s grief over this doesn’t justify what she does next: bonding with Michael knowing that he has plans to play with Chloe and break her heart. Even kissing Michael to make Chloe think he was Lucifer. Maze is always too … intense with her punishments. She goes too far. That was wrong so I was glad that Chloe faced her and put her in her place. It’s a conversation that hurts, that hits Maze hit after hit, but it’s what Chloe had to do.

I liked that later Maze tried to defend her. As soon as she realizes that Michael is trying to cross a line, she is not willing to allow it. And I love that she shows that kind of friendship here. However, it is quite incongruous with what we see before. She was able to break her heart and now she defends her at all costs.

Speaking of this Maze / Michael showdown, I don’t like the way the scene is set up. Maze is a demon, an expert in fighting, has dyed much better opponents than Miguel and has won the fight. Here Miguel beats it too fast, too easy and I don’t like it at all because I don’t feel it credible.

In the end, Maze also feels that Chloe is leaving her, that she is not important to her, just as she was not important to Lilith, to Eve, to Lucifer … she is important to all of them but Maze needs to hear it, she needs to feel it.

Maze has Linda, she is there but, given what has happened to the others, Maze can’t help but wonder how long? How long until Linda leaves her too? She has a son to take care of and she has less and less time for her.

Maze tries to be someone else. If no one can care by being her … maybe by being someone else, yes. The key here is just being herself. People love her as she is. Only she … doesn’t feel that way. She can not do it.

What about Amenadiel? He is the only one that Maze feels has not abandoned her. It was she who did it. Maybe … he is the answer to feel loved and needed, to feel that she matters. And she tries, she tries so hard … but it doesn’t work. However, he gives her some hope that the impossible will become possible. Maybe she can get a soul.

In the middle of all this Michael appears. He is the only one who, despite her manipulations, has not hidden anything from her (of course, he has manipulated her, but Maze cannot see it because Michael attacks her at her weakest point). And he is the only one who offers her what she wants most, who does not tell her that it is impossible. So she makes the decision to team up with him.

Maybe that means betraying others. But for Maze, I think it means that, for the first time, she’s fighting for her, for what she wants. She isn’t waging Lucifer’s struggles or at the expense of what he needs. For the first time, she is fighting for what she needs, for what she wants. Of course, it is not the way. So yeah, I understand Maze even though I don’t agree with what she does.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT MEANS RIGHT, BROTHER?

Let’s talk about Charlie. Of course, Michael uses Amenadiel’s fears about him to try to manipulate him at will and he almost succeeds … until, thanks to Lucifer, he realizes what is happening.

This facet of father is something that I really liked seeing. The first experiences, the own fears of simply being a father and above, angel. So much so that he screwed up several times with Linda. I didn’t know that I was going to like this plot so much. Charlie has my heart in his hand, he’s the cuteness and the moment when Lucifer, Dan and Amenadiel (along with the idiot I prefer not to remember) are taking care of him is a lot of fun and one of the most top moments of this season. Plus, when only Lucifer’s true face shuts him down, that has been fantastic.

But apparently he is a normal human child. Although I don’t believe it. This little baby is half an angel can not be so normal. In this sense, we must stop to think who exactly froze time in the last minutes of the season. Could it be Amenadiel as Lucifer thought? Maybe … but Amenadiel never had the power to freeze time, only to slow it down. Could it be Charlie who did it? I think there is a story here that they have to tell us.

Speaking of powers, where are Amenadiel’s? It’s strange that his powers didn’t return at the same time as his wings. If the problem was being in grace with his father, that was fixed when he got his wings back, then why can’t he use his power? I think maybe everything has to do with Amenadiel himself … another story they have to tell us.

Apart from this Amenadiel plot, I have to say that I really liked this character. It is, for me, his best season since the show began. It had always been a character that was just there (except in season 1 that I really hate him) but now it is different. Now, I have really felt him an essential part of the show. Every time he appeared, he brought quality, be it with Charlie, with his friendship with Dan (I adore these two together), with Linda or Maze and, of course, with Chloe and Lucifer.

We will always be grateful to him for the conversation he had with Chloe and led to Deckerstar reconciliation, right Lucifans? And with Lucifer. With his brother. I’m so proud to see the evolution of this relationship. From enemies to truly prove themselves as brothers. To fight together. I’m so proud that my tears really come to my eyes. BROTP FOREVER!

WE ALL NEED THERAPY

Clearly everyone needs therapy, including Linda herself. This season has brought us many unexpected surprises. I don’t think anyone expected Linda’s story and even less about Dan. But it is so good, they are such good plots, so well spun … bravo!

Let’s start with Linda. This plot has been totally unsuspected. They have also spun it masterfully with Maze and also with Michael. She fed on her own fears, her own guilt. And Maze … Linda was trying to justify Lilith because she identified with her (although they have nothing to do with her) and that’s when she drops the bomb on Maze: she abandoned her daughter when she was younger. She just left … at that moment Maze can’t stand it.

Linda is her friend, a good mother, a reference, someone to look up to and, suddenly, it is as if she has fallen from a pedestal. Maze is disappointed and angry … but agrees to listen. Maybe that way she can understand what her mother felt.

Linda’s story is heartbreaking but we can, a part of us, understand what she was going through. She suffered from depression and was a girl whose life became too big because, at her age, she is not prepared for something like that. And she feels guilty, she feels so guilty. She always thinks of her, cares for her, and loves her silently. Linda is the complete opposite of Lilith who is proud of what she did and does not believe, at all, that she did anything reprehensible.

That is why Maze is able to understand her and go with her to meet her daughter. However, a part of Maze wants to punish her mother through Linda. That’s why she insists so much that Linda tell this lovely girl everything. Because somehow she wants that girl to have the opportunity that she never had but the problem here is that it is not about her, it is about Ariana and Linda. It’s about whether or not being ready to meet her mother is something she must decide … but Maze is right that for that, Adriana must have the opportunity to do so.

I love the way Linda makes things clear to Maze. They are friends, she is not someone she is torturing and she is not Lilith. That dialogue hides everything. Linda is not Lilith. But Maze feels so because she identifies too much with the story. Just like I love this, I love more the way they both comfort each other in the end, the scene where Maze behaves like the friend she is with Linda and helps her, she must give Ariana a chance. The scene where Linda comforts Maze and just hugs her, giving her everything she needs. Love, to feel like she has someone there, by her side.

This scene is so heartbreaking. So sad but so beautiful at the same time because of the precious friendship that is shown. It always brings tears to my eyes. Everytime I see it. It’s just … it just breaks your heart. Your heart breaks for Linda but most of all for Maze. You want to hug her and tell her that her mother is a bitch with no feelings who doesn’t deserve her and that she has people who love her by her side.

The second bombshell of the season is Dan finding out the secret. Damn Michael! It was clear that Dan was going to react badly to the truth. Not just because it’s a shock but because he knows that Chloe is involved with him and so is Trixie. But shoot him? Really? Dan, think a bit! You are trigger-happy …

Everything seemed to be going so well with these two. They had recovered that tug of war. That reticent affection that we both have that we missed so much, and Dan and Amenadiel were a team. They were friends. Even Dan gave Lucifer advice about Chloe because he had accepted that the two of them were happening. And thanks to Michael everything falls apart. Of course, Michael manages to manipulate Dan’s fears.

That scene in the cemetery is sad and breaks your heart and makes you smile while you cry. Dan loves Charlotte. She’s the love of his life. And he knows that he will not be able to be with her, everything he has done … is only going to take him to hell, not heaven. And it hurts him, it kills him inside but he’s happy for her. He’s happy for Charlotte because she got what she wanted, what she deserved. Because that is love, that the happiness of the other matters more than yourself.

Then Michael arrives and offers him exactly what he wants: to protect his family and go to heaven. He mistakes his thoughts for lies to make Dan think that Lucifer is the evil twin. Actually, he does something similar to what he does with Maze.

So Dan, determined, is going to shoot Lucifer. Chloe herself looks him in the eye and begs him not to do it, to listen to her … but he does it the same way and this is when we all want to kill him. I understand Dan, I really do, but can’t you find another way to react? Hit too many shots without thinking. Dan should just stop for a second and just think. It’s that even Chloe has begged him not to. He just have to stand still for a second. Just take a deep breath and listen.

IF YOU THINK THAT THE ONLY THING YOU DESERVE IS THAT JERK, YOU ARE NOT A ROLE MODEL 

SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK, MAZE! What a good line! Maze is absolutely right. Ella has to value herself more and deserves a good guy. I didn’t like seeing her go from bad asshole to bad asshole. My eyes could not bear so much pain because Ella is worth a lot, she is a precious unicorn and she did not value herself as she should. The problem in all this is that the good guy was not so good. Everything seemed perfect … too perfect.

From the first time he showed up, Pete gave me a bad feeling. Too adorable, too … cute, and he always seemed to know exactly where to find Ella when he shouldn’t. Very suspicious.

And my suspicions were confirmed. But still, they surprised me. Cheers for the actor who went from totally adorable to complete psycho in a second. And I want to hurt him for daring to hurt Ella because he may not have been able to hurt her physically but he has done it emotionally. You just have to see the way in which she holds her tears when she interrogates him and when she collapses when leaving that room.

The scene in which she fights for her life is chilling and full of tension, but this scene has a lot of power. It is very powerful. She does not like that psychopath to let him know how much he has hurt her, how much he has affected her. She did have feelings for him. It’s not until she’s away from him that Ella lets go and can’t stop crying. Another round of applause for Aimee because she does an amazing job.

But is she really broken? I don’t think so. As Lucifer tells Maze, Ella is stronger than everyone thinks, stronger than she thinks herself (I love this line). This psychopath won’t be able to break her. She will have a hard time but will be reborn from her ashes, I’m sure.

And speaking of Lucifer and Ella, I love that they have finally shown the love that exists between them. Lucifer has always been fond of her but she was so adorable and so talkative that it happened a bit like with Trixie, he was fond of her but he didn’t notice her too much and it seemed that he didn’t feel anything but this season they have perfectly shown that Lucifer cares for her. He didn’t trust Pete very much and didn’t like seeing him around her too much. As if he were an overprotective father but he always trusted her, her strength and her bravery. Miss Lopez is one of the pillars of Lucifer’s life.

Don’t you think it’s time for Ella to find out the secret? Now that Dan knows everything, only her remains. And I think that this whole Pete story will make the character have an inner revolution similar to his previous crisis of faith and that will be when she learns the whole truth. It will be very interesting and more with God in the middle of all this, because let us remember that He is there and Ella has been praying to Him since she can remember. Which brings us straight to …

FEARS 

The manipulation through Michael’s fear leads to a final few minutes of heart attack. Chloe can barely contain her pain at what she thinks is the evidence that Lucifer doesn’t feel the same way for her, Lucifer fears losing her more than anything, Amenadiel is scared for Charlie … and, in the middle of all that, Michael appears as who watches the world burn and enjoys the show.

This is when the final fight begins, which Maze joins on Michael’s side. It’s … heartbreaking to see this scene. Lucifer vs. Maze. Maze vs. Lucifer. And all because of those words that she needs to hear and Lucifer hasn’t told her … or because of everything he’s said to her, depending on how you look at it. If you look closely, Lucifer has no intention of harming Maze at any time, he only defends himself from her attacks.

In fact, he has a chance to damage her multiple times when he manages to get hold of the weapon and doesn’t. At all times he defends himself until at the end he decides to “punch the table” to knock her out. But it is always a defense. I love seeing how Michael was willing to kill an innocent human and Lucifer saves him.

As well as heartbreaking, this scene makes us feel proud. Amenadiel and Lucifer are fighting together, bonding, helping each other, like true brothers. And this speaks of the growth of both characters and the relationship between them. Thinking about how they started and seeing them now … it’s impossible not to smile proudly. We love our BROTP!

This fight is so well executed, every move, the opposing personalities of Michael and Lucifer, the moment when they literally try to tear off each other’s face … and spread their wings! The winged moment is awesome.

At that moment … God appears! The father of the three who is tired of seeing them fight … and so they leave us! With all the intrigue, with everything a mess and with a tremendous desire to see the rest of the season because it promises a lot. What exactly has God come to? Will him cause a lot of problems? I’m very intrigued by Lucifer’s expression when he sees his father, in fact, when he says that word, “father” says it between fascinated and surprised. It’s the only reaction they show us and I think it’s for something. What do you think?

SPANISH REVIEW (ENGLISH VERSION ABOVE)

¡Llegó el día Lucifans! La primera parte de la season 5 de Lucifer se acaba de estrenar y, por fin, sabéis todas las sorpresas que nos trae y habéis podido emocionaros, gritar y volveros locos con esta maravilla. Por fin podemos compartir todas las emociones. Esta es la mejor season hasta la fecha. Tenemos mucho que comentar así que, coged palomitas y…¡vamos a ello! 

NO VOY A ARRUINARLE LA VIDA A LUCIFER, VOY A QUEDÁRMELA

Para hablar de esta season lo primero que tenemos que hacer es hablar sobre Miguel. ¡Dios, cómo odio al tipo! #Michaelisadick. Pero es Tom Ellis así que mi corazón está dividido.

Dejando a un lado mi fascinación por este hombre, tengo que decir que me han sorprendido mucho con esta trama. Como la mayoría, tenía miedo sobre dónde iban con todo esto y cómo lo iban a llevar.

Lo malo con este tipo de tramas de gemelos idénticos es que pueden sobrepasar la línea roja en cuanto al consentimiento, junto con todo lo que ello implica, “manchando” así una historia tan bonita como la de #Deckerstar. Esa era una opción improbable, dado que este show no es del estilo Game of Thrones u Outlander, pero una opción al fin y al cabo dado que podrían así burlarse un poco más de los fans y alargar la agonía.

La siguiente opción era un triángulo amoroso y tengo mis problemas con este tipo de trama porque es tan obvia y tan poco novedosa…además, después de 4 años de sufrimiento, no era el momento de repetir otro triángulo amoroso (Eva, te estoy mirando a ti) y tampoco hubiese encajado bien en la historia.

Así que sí, tenía miedo. Era una historia intrincada, difícil de equilibrar en pantalla y tremendamente complicada de ejecutar. Por eso estoy tan orgullosa de ellos por sorprenderme tanto. Esta historia es una de las mejores sorpresas de la temporada. Realmente sientes que los escritores son mas listos que tú, ¿no amáis esa sensación? Yo sí. Eso fue lo que sentí a lo largo de la temporada con Miguel.

La forma en la que Chloe desde el primer instante siente que algo no va bien es tremendamente reveladora, habla de cómo es conocer tanto a una persona, estar tan conectada con alguien que inmediatamente sientes que algo no encaja, habla de almas gemelas. Ella quería creer las mentiras de Miguel, tenían sentido, eran buenas mentiras, pero en el fondo sabía que había algo demasiado distinto en él, no encontraba en Miguel la esencia del hombre del que se enamoró. 

Miguel era como una cáscara vacía, se veía como Lucifer, hablaba como Lucifer, incluso actuaba como él (o lo intentaba, lo de mentir fue un gran fallo en su teatro) pero simplemente no era él…algo, su esencia, lo que lo hacía ser quién es, simplemente no estaba. Chloe no lo podía explicar con palabras, era simplemente la sensación de que el hombre que tenía ante ella aparentaba ser alguien que nunca sería. La sensación de que el amor de su vida no estaba.

Pero ella quería tanto, pero tanto creerlo, se aferraba a ese rayo de esperanza. Porque creer a Miguel significaba que Lucifer estaba ahí, de nuevo, junto a ella, y que no se había ido para siempre, creer a Miguel significaba que había esperanza. Pero entonces lo vio con Maze y lo supo: él no era Lucifer porque él jamás le haría algo así. Jamás le rompería el corazón de esa forma. Preferiría mil veces morir que hacerle daño a ella y Chloe lo sabe. Lo sabe tan claramente como que el sol sale y se pone todos los días. Es entonces cuando su esperanza se apaga, no sabe quién es la persona que se hace pasar por Lucifer y qué hace ahí, pero está segura de que no es él. Al igual que está segura de que Lucifer seguramente no vuelva.

Así que se propone desenmascarar al intruso jugando su mismo juego: el de la manipulación. Y lo consigue. Miguel está tan pagado de sí mismo que realmente se cree que Chloe lo prefiere a él. Ese es su punto débil, creerse siempre mejor que su hermano y hacer lo que sea para realmente sentir que lo es. Así que Chloe monta una escena de seducción totalmente ensayada solo para hacer caer a Miguel en su mismo juego, aunque la audiencia aún no lo sepa.

Pero esta escena, esta escena está tan bien montada. Pero tan bien. Porque, aunque la audiencia no sepamos que todo es una farsa para atrapar a Miguel, podemos sentir que nuestra Chloe no actuaría de esa forma, y eso nos da una pista muy sutil de lo que están haciendo aquí.

Más tarde, vemos uno de los mejores discursos de Chloe en todo el show. Su fe en Lucifer, su fe en lo que tienen, en que su amor puede superar la barrera del espacio, del tiempo, del cielo y del infierno es tan emocionante. A esto me refería cuando mencioné lo de los feels Deckerstar. No hace falta que estén juntos en la misma escena, este amor, este amor puro simplemente se siente en cada palabra de Chloe y emociona hasta las lágrimas. 

Ella sabe que puede que Lucifer no regrese nunca pero no le importa, nunca dejará de amarlo, nunca dejará de anhelarlo y nadie lo puede sustituir, simplemente porque nadie puede llegar a hacerle sentir lo que él le hace sentir con tan solo una mirada, una sonrisa, una caricia. El amor y la magia que comparten es tan especial, que no importan todos los obstáculos o las pruebas o las locuras celestiales o los cambios por los que tengan que pasar, nunca cambiará. Es inmutable. Son irrompibles. Son increíbles.

Es precioso. Es simplemente precioso. De hecho, si os fijáis en el detalle, cuando Miguel se le acerca por detrás y le toca el brazo, ella da un pequeño salto. Ese toque no es el toque tranquilizador y electrizante de Lucifer, ese toque que hace que salten chispas y su corazón se acelere anhelando más, es un toque distinto, de un enemigo desconocido. Y la forma en la que han hecho guiños al pasado de la pareja, el collar de la bala (incluso lo coge en sus manos y le da vueltas, se lo acerca a los labios, lo besa, recordando, recordándolo), la despedida tan desgarradora…acordándose de todo el camino que les ha llevado hasta donde están. Es brillante la forma en la que está interpretada y hecha esta escena que incluso estos pequeños detalles están cuidados.

Y se ha sentido tan bien cuando Chloe le ha pegado varios tiros a Michael, yo también me he sentido mejor cuando lo ha hecho, ¡esa es mi chica! Pero, como no podía ser de otra forma, cuando nuestro corazón apenas puede contener los feels, todo da un giro. Miguel, con una cara de placer indescriptible, le suelta la bomba a Chloe de que es un regalo hecho por Dios especialmente para Lucifer. Ella no le cree, desea tanto no creerle…pero, en el fondo, sabe que él no está mintiendo. Y esto traerá varios problemas en la relación Deckerstar que analizaremos un poco más adelante.

Sin embargo, como sabéis, todo acaba perfectamente bien y tal y como soñamos que acabaría: con Chloe odiando a Miguel tanto como nosotros y dándole un beso de película a Lucifer del que también hablaremos más adelante. Muy orgullosa de nuestra Chloe. Proud mama here!

Por ahora, sigamos con Miguel. Chloe y su reacción han sido uno de los platos fuertes de la season. Pero hay más, mucho más sobre Miguel. Los escritores no sólo fueron listos respecto a Chloe, si no también con todos los demás. Amenadiel, en cuanto piensa realmente las cosas, se da cuenta de quién es y le da a Miguel dónde más le duele: su ego exacerbado y su intento empeño en ser mejor que Lucifer porque en el fondo sabe que nunca lo será. Me ha encantado ver a Amenadiel defender tanto a Lucifer, habla mucho de la evolución de la relación entre ambos personajes.

Linda también siente que algo raro pasa…aunque no ahondan demasiado en ella. Lo mismo sucede con Dan, que está más que encantado de que “Lucifer” se muestre más amable con él. En cuanto a Maze…bueno, hablaremos un poco más adelante sobre ella y sobre Dan.

Llegó el momento de analizar el personaje en sí de Miguel. Y lo primero que tengo que decir es que Tom Ellis se merece un aplauso. Puedes ver la diferencia entre ambos personajes con solo mirarlos. Sus ojos son diferentes, su expresión es distinta, incluso su forma de moverse lo es. Tom tenía por delante un reto tremendo y lo ha superado con creces. Además, las escenas están, de nuevo, muy bien hechas porque siempre hay una complicación extra cuando un actor interpreta a dos personajes a la hora de ponerlos en pantalla a la misma vez y no han podido hacerlo mejor.

La construcción del personaje de momento es simple pero potente. No debemos olvidar que esto es solo la mitad de la season así que hay un poco de introducción aquí. Por el momento, Miguel es un personaje que está hecho para que lo odiemos (y lo han conseguido). No se le ve humanidad ni una razón más profunda que la envidia y los celos (provocados por la pobre opinión que en realidad tiene de sí mismo) para hacer lo que hace.

El único momento en que vi una fugaz humanidad y genuina sorpresa en sus rasgos fue cuando Chloe le hizo creer que le gustaba más que Lucifer. Creo que, de alguna manera, sintió que ella era la única persona que alguna vez sintió eso (ya que ni sus hermanos, ni siquiera su padre le hizo sentir que lo valoraban más que a Lucifer, más bien al contrario) y esa es la razón por la que no quiera romperle el corazón si no…realmente darse una oportunidad con ella (aunque, por supuesto, nadie puede. Chica equivocada, Miguel, ya está pillada).

Creo que Miguel siempre ha sentido que todo el mundo prefería a Lucifer. Puede que él cayera, puede que fuera condenado a pasar la eternidad en el infierno, pero, aún así, tiene el cariño y el amor de sus hermanos…y de una figura realmente importante: su padre. Miguel envidia a Lucifer por eso quiere conseguir con mentiras y manipulaciones todo lo que él considera que tiene.

Por esa razón animó a Lucifer a rebelarse o a tomarse unas vacaciones en la tierra (la reacción de Lucifer a esto es oro, no se esperaba haber caído por tanto tiempo en las manipulaciones de su hermano). Miguel tenía la esperanza de que esas acciones hicieran que sus hermanos y su padre lo odiaran, lo despreciaran y lo apartaran, pero, a pesar de que pensó que lo logró, nunca lo hizo. Lucifer deja en todos los que conoce una huella imborrable que él jamás podrá dejar. Él lo sabe y lo está matando.

Por eso, cuando Miguel es consciente de la manipulación de Chloe, de que la única persona que pensó que lo elegiría sobre Lucifer lo estaba engañando, cuando se dio cuenta de que todo era una mentira, no tuvo consideración con ella. Miguel quería dañar a Chloe y su relación con Lucifer para siempre, solo para que ella sintiera el mismo dolor que estaba sintiendo él, que él había sentido toda su vida. Así, secuestrando a Chloe al final, quiere dañarlos a ambos, tanto a ella como, a la misma vez, torturar a Lucifer. Es maquiavélico.

La manipulación y la mentira es constante en la vida de Miguel. Los manipula a todos a su antojo, queriendo destruir a su hermano y todo el amor que se ha ganado de los que le rodean. Queriendo despojarlo de todo pieza a pieza. Es por eso que hace que Dan dispare a Lucifer y manipula a Maze de una forma que sienta que el único modo de lograr lo que desea es traicionar a los que más ama. Haciéndole daño así a Lucifer porque sabe cuánto le dolerá una traición de ella. Pero pronto volveremos a eso.

Me tiene preocupada e intrigada este gran plan del que habla Miguel. Es algo que se menciona de pasada pero que no sabemos realmente de qué se trata. Dudo que esté hablando de destrozar la vida de Lucifer, es algo mucho más grande y siniestro. De hecho, quizá el poder de Miguel en la ciudad plateada no es tanto como Amenadiel se piensa o no tanto como desea tener (estamos todos de acuerdo en que es ambicioso). Pero ¿qué puede estar planeando?

En definitiva, Miguel es un personaje muy bien construido, con una buena base y maravillosamente interpretado que nos va a dar aún mejores momentos de los que nos ha dado y la forma en que han llevado su historia, sorprendiéndonos a cada paso es magistral.

SOMOS INCREÍBLES

¿Esa es la mejor línea de la season? Es la mejor línea de la season. Seguro que todos estamos de acuerdo en eso. Como os mencioné, es la mejor season Deckerstar hasta la fecha. 

Ahora entendéis lo que quería decir cuando comenté que dan un paso adelante en el camino. Por supuesto, nada ha terminado aún y les queda mucho por descubrir juntos, pero ahora el show ha elegido un camino claro y sólo tienen que seguirlo.

Hasta ahora, la serie había estado girando alrededor de la pregunta “¿estarán juntos?” pero esta season plantea algo muy distinto. Para ambos, ellos ya estaban juntos, aunque Lucifer estuviera en el infierno y Chloe en la tierra. Eso no importaba. Sí, tenían algunas cosas que resolver, pero ninguno de los dos dudaba de que, si alguna vez volvían a encontrarse, no habría más baile alrededor del otro.

Eso hacía que esta season fuera diferente y que pudiéramos explorar con ellos otras emociones muy distintas. Ahora no se trataba de si querían estar juntos si no de abrazar lo que sentían y dar ese salto de fe. De superar los miedos, las inseguridades, el vértigo, la emoción y los escalofríos que una nueva relación – y más con un ser celestial como Lucifer – implica. Y simplemente aprender a estar juntos, a compartir todo juntos. Es que estos dos están tan jodidamente enamorados el uno del otro que dan ganas de abrazarlos.

Pero para llegar a ese momento tuvieron que superar algunos obstáculos. Como comentábamos antes, Miguel quiso hacer un daño irreparable y le soltó la bomba a Chloe sobre que era un regalo divino hecho solo para Lucifer. Pero vamos por partes.

Al principio de la season, como no podía ser de otra forma, ambos están separados peri necesitándose más que nunca. Chloe se refugia en su lugar seguro: el trabajo y lo único que le queda de él (el LUX). Así se siente más cerca de Lucifer, así puede aparentar que él sigue ahí. El LUX sigue teniendo esa esencia de él. Ese espíritu que la enamoró. Ella sigue sintiendo su presencia allí y puede fingir, aunque sólo sea por un momento, que él nunca se ha ido.

Mientras tanto, vive su propia clase de tortura en el infierno. La echa de menos y simplemente estar ahí, sin ella, para toda la eternidad, es un castigo demasiado cruel. El momento en el que Lucifer dice “vuelve a tu tortura…que yo volveré a la mía” habla por sí solo. Igual que la forma en la que él suspira lleno de dolor, nostalgia y amor y sus ojos brillan de todo lo que esconde cuando sus demonios crean la ilusión de que están en Los Ángeles, junto a ella. La echa tanto de menos…y, al igual que Chloe hace con el LUX, él se refugia en el trabajo que hacían para sentirse un poco más cerca de ella, para sentir que sigue a su lado.

La última escena de la premier es tan poderosa y reveladora. Lucifer analiza sus propios sentimientos. Tenía que protegerlos a todos, protegerla a ella (cuando lo grita me pone los pelos de punta de todo lo que me hace sentir), sí, pero una parte de él tiene miedo de que, si vuelve, de que, si se hubiese quedado, al final hubiese arruinado lo mejor que le sucedió en la vida. Lo mejor que tiene. Lo mejor de sí mismo, como ya lo arruinó otras veces. Tiene miedo de haberle hecho daño a Chloe. Es un miedo legítimo que sentimos todos alguna vez, el de arruinar las cosas cuando todo parece ir bien, el de hacer daño a la persona amada. Por supuesto, ese miedo es infundado pero los miedos no son racionales ni lógicos y se alimentan de nuestros peores miedos.

Tengo que añadir que me encanta la confianza de Lucifer en Chloe. Cuando sabe que ella puede estar en problemas, desea tanto ir y protegerla…pero su miedo y su confianza en ella hacen que se quede. Ella lo resolverá. Lucifer siempre ha pensado que Chloe no lo necesita tanto como él a ella. Lucifer sabe que está muerto en vida sin ella y lo acepta. Pero confía en Chloe para seguir adelante, para lograr vivir sin él, aunque él no pueda vivir sin ella. De lo que este tonto enamorado no se dio cuenta es de que ninguno de ellos se siente completo sin el otro.

Como ya analizamos antes lo que sucedió entre Miguel y Chloe y lo que eso significó para Deckerstar, vamos directamente a uno de los momentos más esperados: su reencuentro (aplausos a Amenadiel por ir a sacar a nuestro diablo favorito, y también a nosotros, de su tortura).

Cuando él vuelve su reencuentro es especial. El primer lugar al que va Lucifer es a ella y cuando la está mirando trabajar, cuando sólo la mira…sonríe y sus ojos se suavizan. Por fin está en casa.

Una vez que Chloe se da cuenta de que está en frente del verdadero Lucifer, toda ella también se suaviza y lo toca, lo abraza, lo siente…y ambos vuelven a respirar. A verdaderamente respirar. A vivir. Porque han encontrado su hogar. Todo ese tiempo separados han estado perdidos, a la deriva torturándose. Y simplemente se tocan, sus manos, sus ojos se conectan…desean decir tantas cosas, hacer tantas cosas…pero solo se miran porque con esa mirada lo están diciendo todo. No hacen falta palabras. Y él está tan orgulloso de que ella se diera cuenta de que Miguel era un impostor. Tan orgulloso de su fuerza, de su inteligencia, de toda ella.

Pero, como no podía ser de otra forma, la felicidad dura poco. Chloe ve un rayo de esperanza cuando Lucifer le dice que todo lo que sale por la boca de Miguel es mentira. Quizá…quizá su instinto se equivoque por una vez y lo que le dijo sobre ser un regalo divino también lo sea…pero Lucifer le confirma que es verdad. Y que él lo sabía. Esto le duele por partida doble. Por un lado, ella debe envolver su cabeza alrededor del hecho de ser un regalo hecho para otra persona, es decir, ni siquiera una persona, una humana, si no…una cosa hecha para otra persona. Su vida no es suya, simplemente fue diseñada así, sin libre albedrío.

A la misma vez, debe aceptar que Lucifer le escondiera un secreto tan grande. Un secreto que lo cambia todo, igual que lo hizo para él en su momento (recordemos su viaje express a Las Vegas). Lo cambia todo porque Chloe llega a la misma conclusión que Lucifer: si todo fue diseñado para que pasara así, nada es real. Lucifer tardó un tiempo en comprender que sí lo era. Que lo que tienen es lo más real que puede existir. Pero Chloe se acaba de enterar y no está aún ahí.

Así que Chloe se siente confundida, herida, enfadada e incluso traicionada. Todo a la vez. Es como si alguien hubiese abierto un agujero bajo sus pies, en el mismo centro del universo. Ahora mismo desea tanto besar a Lucifer y simplemente estar con él…pero, a la misma vez no quiere ni verlo, quiere que desaparezca. Ese es el motivo por el que lo aleja, pero, a la misma vez, tiene pánico de que él se vaya antes de que puedan solucionar todo y salta un poco de miedo cada vez que piensa que se ha podido ir. Y la entiendo. 

Esta es la cosa con esta season: podemos entender a todos los personajes porque todos tienen un punto de razón y eso habla de lo bien construidos que están los viajes emocionales de los personajes en la season.

Por todo esto, la escena de la pelea al final del episodio 3 duele mucho más. Lucifer acaba de pelearse con Miguel (puntualizamos que, a pesar de todo, él no lo mata, solo lo hiere) y busca refugio en su hogar: junto a Chloe. Y ella intenta estar ahí para él, pero…simplemente no puede. Es demasiado. Entonces Lucifer pierde los nervios. La ama. Se aman. Quiere que lo superen (igual que él ha hecho sobre Miguel y sus asquerosas manos metidas en su vida), que estén juntos y su reencuentro sea como el que ha soñado todo ese tiempo de tortura en el infierno. Como el reencuentro que saboreaba cada vez que cerraba los ojos y revivía en su mente cuando los tenía abiertos.

Sin embargo, Chloe no puede. No en ese momento. Sí, Lucifer se está enfrentando a verdades incómodas sobre su pasado, pero él está tan acostumbrado a eso…ella no. Ama al diablo y aún hay veces que ni puede creérselo, pero justo cuando simplemente lo acepta y está lista para avanzar, debe enfrentarse a otra bomba que lo sacude todo. Me encantan los dos en esta escena. Ambos tienen razón, entendemos la postura de los dos, ambos están gritando, casi destrozándose el uno al otro porque les duele, están sufriendo, se están partiendo en dos y quieren solo abrazarse y besarse, pero hay tantas cosas que se lo impiden. Ahora están a centímetros de distancia, pero se sienten más lejos que cuando Lucifer estaba en el infierno. Eso nos rompe el corazón. Y no podemos parar de llorar.

Lucifer no puede evitar intentar llegar a Chloe por todos los medios, solo espera que Trixie tenga razón y que con una conversación y con tiempo, todo se solucione. Así llegamos a mi segundo episodio favorito de la season, el episodio 5. Lucifer está desesperado por arreglar las cosas con Chloe. No puede soportar perderla, es demasiado doloroso incluso pensarlo. Así que hace de todo.

Incluso intenta que Chloe repita la misma catarsis que sintió él cuando quemó sus alas. La lleva a la playa y le ofrece una catarsis a base de fuego, pero…eso no es lo que ella necesita. Chloe necesita pensar, necesita tiempo para envolver la cabeza alrededor de todo. Y solo alejarse de los asuntos celestiales por un minuto. No es algo que le guste a Lucifer, pero se resigna a hacerlo, con la esperanza de que, como siempre, al acabar el caso, todo vuelva a estar bien.

Sin embargo, al final, por una vez Lucifer comprende algo sin Linda: no hay atajos en esto. Le dará a Chloe el tiempo que necesite y solo espera, tiene la esperanza de que ella lo supere, de que lo superen…aunque sabe que no hacerlo es una posibilidad. Aunque eso lo destroze, lo único importante es ella. Hablando de crecimiento de personaje, proud mama here, again!

Aunque Chloe quiere alejarse de todo lo celestial, el caso la contradice y no sólo debe resolver sus problemas con Dios interactuando con monjas si no que también eso la lleva a trabajar con Amenadiel….lo que hace que termine enterándose de que fue él quien, siguiendo órdenes de su padre, bendijo a su madre. Así que eso la hace alejarse definitivamente de los hermanos celestiales…o eso piensa ella, porque cuando entras en esa mierda, no puedes salir, chica.

Mientras que Ella representa al fandom Deckerstar, Amenadiel es nuestro ángel guardián, mucho más en este episodio. Él quiere ayudar a Lucifer y a Chloe a estar juntos. Ojalá tuviera las respuestas que ella busca para que todo fuera más fácil, pero nunca preguntó. Sin embargo, a veces las respuestas aparecen cuando menos las buscas. Su experiencia con las monjas le ha dado a Amenadiel una nueva perspectiva. Ellas veían reflejado en ellas el amor por dios…igual que le sucede a todo el mundo con Lucifer. Ven reflejados en él sus mayores deseos.

Pero Chloe no. Porque Chloe es la única persona que lo ve. Que realmente lo ve a él, no lo que desea que él sea. Solo a él. Ese ser celestial imperfecto, que la vuelve loca y que es tan maravilloso. Además, ¿por qué Lucifer se vuelve vulnerable en presencia de ella? Es una duda que siempre tuvimos y aquí está la respuesta: Lucifer elige ser vulnerable a su lado. Es una metáfora de su relación, pues todos elegimos ser vulnerables con la persona amada. Lucifer estuvo eligiendo serlo con ella desde el principio, Lucifer la eligió desde el principio.

Esto. A esto me refiero. Por fin nos dan todas estas respuestas y son tan buenas. No es nada como nos habíamos imaginado. Nos han sorprendido pero, a la vez, es todo lo que hubiésemos soñado porque habla tanto y tan profundamente del amor que esta pareja siente el uno por el otro, de lo endgame que son. Es perfecto. Es simplemente nuestros sueños hechos realidad.

Tras esta revelación, todo vuelve a girar y a cambiar para Chloe. Por fin está en la misma página que Lucifer. Lo que ambos sienten, lo que ambos tienen, no podría ser más real. No podría ser más auténtico. Así que, al igual que Lucifer la eligió a ella desde el principio, ella lo elige a él. Elige ser vulnerable a su lado, elige bajar las defensas y solo sentir. Va a buscarlo para decírselo. 

Él está al piano tocando una melodía triste y sombría, una melodía que habla de pérdidas y coincide con su estado de ánimo. Siente más que nunca, más que cuando estaba en el infierno, que puede perder a Chloe. Al amor de su vida. Pero también sabe que debe respetar su decisión, aunque lo desgarre por dentro.

Entonces llega ella, lo mira a los ojos y le dice de la forma más sincera y pura todo lo que siente y para Lucifer es como si todo su mundo volviera a ser en color. 

Como si todo volviera a funcionar dentro de sí mismo, como si su corazón volviera a latir. Y susurra “inspectora” casi como un anhelo, con miedo de que todo sea un sueño y ella desaparezca. Es una súplica: no te vayas. Por favor, quédate.

Y ella se queda. Unen sus labios en un beso corto, solo para comprobar que todo es real. Y después en un beso más largo, más apasionado, más salvaje, un beso que llevan anhelando darse desde hace mucho.

Así, llegamos a mi episodio favorito de toda la season. Como sabéis, es el episodio 6. Ahora todo ha cambiado entre ellos. Se sienten más cercanos, más seguros y solo quieren estar juntos en todo el sentido de la palabra. Hasta que llega un idiota (del que no quiero recordar ni el nombre) a estropearlo todo. Es un ex novio de Chloe que aún sigue interesado en ella y al verlos tan cercanos, los celos se despiertan en Lucifer. Ahora que han conseguido estar juntos, no piensa dejar que se le escape entre los dedos. Seamos sinceros: AMAMOS ver a Lucifer celoso. Es divertido, un cambio bienvenido y nos encanta ver lo enamorado que está de Chloe.

Pero la decepción pronto llega cuando Lucifer tiene que escuchar a Chloe negar lo que tienen, lo que ambos son y decirle que no está exactamente segura aún sobre ellos. La cara de Lucifer aquí…quiero abrazarlo muy fuerte. Es como una pesadilla hecha realidad para él. Él tiene tan claro lo que siente por Chloe, lo que son el uno para el otro, pero parece que ella no y eso le duele. Es como un cuchillo clavado en su corazón.

Tengo que decir que me cabreé bastante con Chloe en este punto. Después de todo lo que han pasado, ¿cómo se le ocurre decir eso? No tiene sentido. También la veo un poco demasiado fascinada con ese idiota, lo que a él le da alas para sus fantasías de volver con ella. Supongo que es su primer amor y, como dice Dan, una parte de ella siempre estará enganchada porque ¿no sucede siempre así?

Por supuesto, todo esto solo aumenta el temor de Lucifer a perderla y comete la locura y la imprudencia de no usar el cerebro que su padre le dio. Así que le hace caso al idiota que lo único que quiere es hacer que rompan y se alejen. Se deja manipular por él y eso desconcierta y daña a Chloe porque ella tampoco quiere perderlo y lo siente muy lejos…

Al final, cuando Lucifer se da cuenta de que se ha comportado como un idiota, su lado diabólico resurge y esto no nos puede gustar más. ¡Dale su merecido al imbécil, Luci!

Chloe está desconcertada, dolida y enfadada, todo a la vez. Lucifer la vuelve loca, es un desafío, un reto y probablemente nunca comprenda todas las locuras celestiales que lo envuelven, pero lo ama, simplemente no se imagina una vida sin él. Porque él es increíble. Porque ellos son increíbles. 

Ese discurso es otro momento estelar en la season. Y el idiota por fin cae en cuenta de que esa chica ya está pillada. Es complicado, sí, pero en realidad no lo es tanto. Son solo ella y él y lo que sienten el uno por el otro.

En los últimos minutos de episodio estos dos idiotas enamorados se encuentran por fin en medio del camino. Los dos se disculpan a la vez. Y esto es perfecto. Porque es tan importante, pero tan importante. Esto hubiese sido impensable hace apenas una o dos seasons. Habla de todo lo que han crecido como personajes y como pareja. De la evolución de su relación. 

Y la disculpa es preciosa y necesaria. Al fin y al cabo, ambos se han dejado llevar por el mismo miedo: el pánico que tienen por perder al otro.

Lucifer no debería haberse dejado manipular por el DJ Imbécil y Chloe no debería haber negado lo que son simplemente porque le aterra lo que eso significa. Lo importante y trascendental que su relación es, lo que significa Lucifer para ella. Pero así es el amor de verdad, aterra, da miedo porque entregas todo el poder, la otra persona tiene capacidad para destrozarte, para hacerte daño…pero merece la pena vivirlo, merece la pena sentirlo. Y ella lo sabe. Así que no más miedos, no más dudas. Solo ellos. Porque son increíbles.

Y AQUÍ ES CUANDO PASA. Lo que todos estábamos esperando por más de 4 años: el infierno se congela y ambos por fin se acuestan juntos. Esta escena está tan bien cuidada, tan bien hecha. Lucifer se ha acostado con muchas mujeres a lo largo de la serie, pero esto es diferente. 

Los ojos de ambos están conectados en cada momento. La forma tan íntima en que se tocan y se sienten. El hecho de que él la mire, como pidiéndole permiso y que ella se lo de sin palabras y sea entonces, y solo entonces, cuando él une sus manos y la guía hasta la cama. Y sea así sin soltar sus manos, que se acaricien, se toquen, se besen, beban el uno del otro y hagan magia juntos. La forma tan reverente en que él solo se aparta un segundo y la contempla, dejando sus manos unidas, casi sin poder creer que eso esté pasando, que ella esté a su lado, casi venerándola, con el amor que siente por ella desbordando sus ojos…y que entonces diga “increíbles”. Sí, lo son. Por eso los amamos.

Esta escena nos da tantos feels. Es magia pura. Han tenido la delicadeza de hacerla totalmente diferente a lo que habían mostrado antes. Puntualizando así que Chloe no es una más, es LA chica. Dejando claro lo especial de esta relación, lo importante. Que son endgame. Y lo han hecho con tanta delicadeza, con tanta sutileza, con tanto cuidado…es imposible no emocionarse al verlo. Este episodio es EL episodio, sin duda alguna. Y quiero más. De hecho, es el único defecto que veo yo, que necesitaba más. No es un show que muestre escenas explícitas, pero me hubiese gustado ver algo más, solo por el tiempo que tuvimos que esperar. Pero la escena es tan perfecta.

SON ALMAS GEMELAS

¡Amén, Maze! Eso es justo lo que son. Tras su noche apasionada, nos despertamos a la mañana siguiente igual de felice que Chloe y Lucifer porque… ¡el infierno se congeló! Y tras unos pequeños mimos y bromas que nos ponen los ojos de corazón todo el rato, algo sucede. Chloe consigue sonsacarle sus deseos a Lucifer. Y así empieza un tira y afloja entre ambos, con terapia de pareja incluida, sobre la pérdida de los poderes de Lucifer, que Chloe tenga ese poder sobre él y lo que esto significa para ellos.

Chloe teme que Lucifer esté poniendo trabas a su relación nada más empezar y que se niegue a compartir algo con ella. Al fin y al cabo, las relaciones se tratan de eso, de compartir todo juntos sin perderse a uno mismo en el proceso, tal y como recuerda Linda. En una relación entregas parte de tu poder para dejarlo en manos del otro y eso asusta. Hay que aprender a equilibrar eso sin sentir que uno mismo se diluye en el proceso.

Sin embargo, el verdadero problema que tiene Lucifer con todo esto se revela al final: no piensa que sea lo suficientemente bueno para Chloe. Por eso lo aterroriza perder su poder porque cree que es lo único que lo hace especial, lo único que hace que Chloe lo necesite en el trabajo, que fue como se conocieron. Si lo pierde, ¿no perderán parte importante de su relación también?

Lucifer siente que no está a la altura de Chloe así que busca algo que sea “especial” para intentar llegar ahí, para que ella lo necesite y no se dé cuenta de que podría hacerlo todo perfectamente sin él porque no lo necesita (de nuevo, este pensamiento de que Chloe no lo necesita tanto como él a ella). Pero, de nuevo, de lo que este idiota enamorado no se da cuenta es de que Chloe no lo necesita por sus poderes, lo necesita porque es, bueno, él, y lo ama. El desprecio que Lucifer siente hacia sí mismo vuelve a salir a relucir aquí, no valorándose a sí mismo. Chloe trata en todo momento de que se sienta necesitado, valorado…porque es lo que siente. Él es tan fuerte físicamente, pero, a la vez, tan frágil, a veces se olvida de esto.

Una vez que todo acaba, juntos inauguran una nueva rutina: vida doméstica en el ático de Lucifer. ¡Y ya nos podemos morir tranquilas después de esto! Juntos, en una escena preciosa tanto por su simbología como por la forma de rodarla, reflexionan sobre lo que ha sucedido. Que ella tenga ese efecto en Lucifer…puede ser muy bueno. Es una señal de que la está dejando entrar. Otra señal de que la elige. La elige para que ella vea sus miedos, sus fragilidades, sus deseos…todo de él. Ella y solo ella. La está dejando entrar cada vez más en su corazón, en su misma alma. Lucifer no lo había pensado así, pero tiene sentido y le gusta…quiere ser vulnerable con ella. Es con la única persona que desea serlo.

Tengo que decir que no estoy del todo de acuerdo con lo que Chloe dice aquí. Creo que Lucifer lleva dejándola entrar, dejándola traspasar la coraza que cubre su corazón desde el principio. Es por eso que eligió ser vulnerable con ella y que ha compartido mucho más con ella que con cualquier otra persona. Ella es la razón de todo. Así las cosas, me gusta mucho el diálogo, pero no creo que Lucifer la esté dejando entrar ahora, si no que lleva haciéndolo desde el principio inconscientemente, y ahora que están juntos la está dejando entrar aún más profundamente.

Cuando parecía que nos esperaba otra noche en la que el infierno se iba a congelar, aparece Dan para arruinar la diversión y dejarnos con el corazón en la boca y gritando desesperadas y aterradas, justo igual que Chloe.

Ella estaba presente cuando Dan le dispara a Lucifer así que todos esperamos que, al menos, esté herido…pero no es así. Es invulnerable y, mientras que Chloe se alegra de que no esté muerto, de verdad se alega porque ese segundo que pensó que lo había perdido fue el mismo infierno, no puede evitar tener miedo de lo que esto podría significar.

Solo cosas malas pasan cuando esta pareja se separa, aunque sea por poco tiempo. Chloe es secuestrada y Lucifer está desesperado por encontrarla mientras que se siente culpable por dejarla sola. Sabe que tenía que haber estado junto a ella y no puede perdonarse a sí mismo por no hacerlo. Empieza una carrera contra reloj para encontrarla y realmente llega a sentirse morir cuando cree que la va a encontrar muerta. La congoja en su cara, el dolor, el sufrimiento…todo lo sentimos con él.

Al final, quien secuestró a Chloe no podía ser otro que Miguel, lo que obliga a Dan y Lucifer a trabajar juntos para encontrarla. Mientras tanto, Miguel vuelve a manipular el miedo de Chloe. El miedo de perder a Lucifer, el miedo de que él no sienta lo mismo que ella. Al fin y al cabo, los dos temen justo lo mismo. Pero Chloe…ella cree que tiene razones para pensarlo porque Lucifer no dijo “te quiero” cosa que ella sí hizo.

Y es cierto que él no pronunció esas palabras, pero lo ha demostrado tantas veces…incluso le dijo algo mejor. Le dijo que ella era su primer amor. Que siempre fue ella. Chloe no lo entendió, pero Lucifer aquí le estaba declarando su amor. Eva no significó nada. Ni ninguna otra. Solo ella. Ella es la razón de todo. La razón por la que está en la tierra, la razón por la que se quedó, la razón por la que no desea irse. Su ancla. Ella tiene su corazón, incluso su alma. Ella tiene todo de él. Porque todo su ser le pertenece. Quizá no sea un te quiero, pero si esto no es una declaración de amor, qué lo es. A parte de todas las cosas que Lucifer ha hecho por ella y que Chloe aún no sabe (esperamos que eso cambie pronto).

Además, creo que Lucifer no pronunció esas palabras exactas porque no cree que abarquen todo lo que siente por ella y también por miedo. Decirlas significa darle tanto poder a Chloe…significaría que, si sus temores son ciertos y ella no siente lo mismo por él, eso lo destrozaría sin posibilidad de reparación y no se siente del todo listo, prefiere mantener la apariencia de que un rechazo de ella no lo destrozaría por completo, aunque en el fondo sepa que no es cierto. Prefiere mantener la apariencia de que controla algo. Pero esto es o que sucede con el amor, no controlamos nada.

Chloe, por su parte, necesita escuchar estas palabras. Ella no ha comprendido aún el significado de todo lo que le ha dicho y hecho Lucifer por ella y necesita oírlo de sus labios de forma más tradicional. Esas palabras son como la panacea. Lo único que le disipará las dudas, los temores, lo siente así. Y el miedo de que Lucifer no se las haya dicho se añade al miedo de que él ya no la esté dejando entrar y de alguna forma la rechace, rechace su relación. Eso le da todo tipo de munición a Miguel para jugar con su cabeza.

Lucifer consigue llegar a ella y, entonces, todos esos miedos desaparecen al mirarlo a los ojos, al abrazarlo, al besarlo. Dan se queda embobado viéndolos (same here, Dan!) porque es capaz de sentir, de ver cómo Chloe lo ama y cómo él también lo hace. Ha visto cómo su voz se volvía más tierna, más cariñosa, llena de amor, lo fuerte que la ha abrazado, el alivio de sus ojos y la culpabilidad que siente por dejarla sola y porque sus asuntos familiares siempre la alcancen, los alcancen. Lo ha visto todo. Se ha dado cuenta de que son almas gemelas y de que no hay nada más auténtico que eso. Ese amor que sienten y la magia que comparten.

Pero…¿por qué Lucifer decide no ser vulnerable con ella? Mi teoría es que, como ahora están juntos, él es vulnerable emocionalmente con ella, por lo tanto, la vulnerabilidad física ya no es necesaria.

Tras esto, llega la sonrisa y la mirada de orgullo, de amor y de alivio en el rostro de Lucifer mientras ella agradece a todos por buscarla y encontrarla. Hay un momento en que Chloe lo mira directamente, sus ojos conectan y sólo le habla a él, solo se dirige a él. El momento perfecto.

Después de esto, llega la charla. Al ver a Lucifer todos los miedos de Chloe han desaparecido. El alivio y el amor los han sustituido, pero ahora que la situación está más calmada, esos miedos han vuelto y necesita…necesita salir de dudas. Al igual que Lucifer que siente que tiene que pedirle perdón porque su loca y celestial familia siempre la haga sufrir. Cuando Chloe comienza a hablar y a expresar sus miedos, Lucifer no entiende qué quiere decirle. Como sucede con Maze, da por hecho las cosas y no ve necesario simplemente decirlas porque, para él, es tan obvio, está todo ahí, solo hay que mirar, que no comprende que las personas necesitan realmente escucharlo todo de su boca.

Cuando al fin lo entiende, para él es…difícil solo decirlo y sus intentos de arreglar eso hacen que los peores miedos, las peores pesadillas, de Chloe se confirmen. Él no sabe mentir así que intenta hacerle el menor daño posible, pero…no siente lo mismo que ella. 

Cuando Lucifer la siente sufrir así, cuando siente que no entiende lo que quiere decir y que la está perdiendo, la llama por su nombre, Chloe. Ella había bajado la cabeza, derrotada, intentando mantener la compostura, intentando no derrumbarse y hacer ver que estaba rota en mil pedazos, pero cuando Lucifer dice su nombre, levanta inmediatamente la cabeza. Nunca dice su nombre a no ser que sea algo importante y que lo que vaya a decir sea totalmente en serio. Una pequeña esperanza nace en su corazón y justo cuando Lucifer empieza a decir esas palabras, el tiempo se congela y Chloe con él.

Aquí es cuando todos juntos gritamos “¡NOOOOOOO!” a la pantalla y queremos hacer algo, lo que sea, para que la escena continúe, incluido Lucifer que está totalmente cabreado. Pero no será hasta la segunda parte de la season que esta historia continuará. ¡No puedo esperar!

Como veis, gran parte de la season se centra en la pareja y realmente avanzan en la relación y superan los miedos, las inseguridades y esos pequeños demonios que siempre vienen con una relación nueva, a la vez que construyen un camino juntos. 

Le han dado mucho a Lauren (Chloe) con lo que trabajar esta season. Muchas emociones, muchas reacciones, muchos sentimientos que expresar y lo bueno es que la entendemos tanto. Todo lo que hace o dice tiene lógica. Con Lucifer también pasa y el crecimiento que ha tenido esta season es maravilloso. Está aprendiendo a abrazar esa parte humana de él y a estar en una relación pero de Chloe me siento especialmente orgullosa porque ella también está aprendiendo, superando miedos y, a la vez, intentando no dejarse llevar por sus inseguridades y es tan lista. Y sus reacciones son tan humanas. ¡AMO A ESTOS DOS!

La season no está exenta de sufrimiento con ellos (de hecho, todo se nota en sus caras, en las inflexiones de sus voces, en sus expresiones), de lágrimas, pero tampoco de momentos felices y, como habéis podido comprobar, el amor entre ellos se muestra cada segundo, aún cuando están separados o distanciados, aún en esa escena final que deja la relación en un estado frágil, esperando a que Lucifer disipe todos los miedos de Chloe y ella los de él. Son endgame, no hay ninguna duda de ello y los productores no han podido dejarlo más claro.

ÉL ES EL ÚNICO QUE HA SIDO SINCERO CONMIGO

Ahora hablemos de Maze. Sí, entiendo que debéis estar decepcionados con ella, una parte de mí también lo está. Pero otra parte de mi entiende lo que está haciendo, aunque no lo comparta. 

Ella se siente tan abandonada, tan dejada de lado por todos, tan…estancada. Ve a todos avanzar de alguna forma, sin ella. Linda y Amenadiel tienen un hijo, Lucifer y Chloe están enamorados…siente que todo el mundo, de una forma u otra, la abandona. Al final, todos desaparecen, tarde o temprano. ¿Por qué no iban a hacerlo si hasta su madre desapareció? Y nunca se arrepintió de ello.

Maze siente que nadie la considera lo suficientemente buena como para tomar el tiempo de quedarse. Su madre no lo hizo. Cuando fue a verla ella no se mostró arrepentida, al contrario, se mostró feliz de lo que había hecho. De que no necesitara a nadie. Pero ahí está el quid de la cuestión. Los necesita. A todos. Porque ella no es una perra sin sentimientos como Lilith y todos necesitamos a las personas que amamos, son parte de lo que somos. 

Pero al ver a su madre tan…feliz de que no necesitara a nadie quiso demostrarle que así era. No necesitaba a nadie…ni siquiera a ella. Ni siquiera a una madre. Pero, por supuesto, esto no es cierto. Maze necesita a su madre, siempre la necesitó. Y necesitaba un cierre con ella. Necesitaba decirle todo lo que siente. Que la odia, que la desprecia…pero que siempre la necesitó, que siempre la amó, aunque se despreciara a sí misma por ello. Pero Maze no pudo tener ese cierre. Su madre se fue antes de poder hacerlo. Y eso la está matando.

Necesita…sentir que es importante para alguien. No lo fue para su madre y apenas puede envolver su cabeza y su corazón alrededor de eso. Al principio, pensó que era alguien para Lucifer pero la forma que él tiene de hablarle, de desdeñar sus deseos, la hace sentirse…horrible y poco importante. Por eso os comentaba que el mayor defecto de Lucifer es que a veces dice todas las cosas incorrectas porque no piensa lo que dice. 

Para Lucifer, Maze es alguien muy importante, es su familia, por supuesto que le importa, por supuesto que la ama pero ella necesita escucharlo y él no sabe cómo decírselo porque no sabe cómo tratarla. Maze estaba destinada a ser su sirviente pero se convirtió en una amiga, en una hermana. Dejó de ser su sirviente y ahora solo es…Maze. Pero Lucifer no es muy bueno con los asuntos sentimentales así que no sabe cómo hacerle ver a Maze que es una de las personas más importantes en su vida. Lucifer ni siquiera sabe que ella necesita escucharlo (sabemos que no es muy bueno para darse cuenta de estas cosas) pero lo necesita. Necesita sentirse amada. 

Y es justo lo contrario lo que siente cuando habla con Lucifer. Ella ve como una traición que no contara con ella para volver al infierno. Su hogar. De hecho, la escena en la que ella destroza el piano (algo tan amado para él) y se rompe ella misma en pedazos, permitiéndose llorar, es muy reveladora. Lo dice todo sin palabras. Para Lucifer es más sencillo que eso, ella podía ir cuando quisiera, solo tenía que pedírselo a Amenadiel, Maze ya no es su sirviente así que solo le estaba dejando libertad para que ella tomara la decisión. De nuevo, Lucifer dice las cosas incorrectas pero sin darse cuenta de ello. 

Lo mismo sucede cuando ella le habla de su más grande anhelo: conseguir un alma. Lucifer solo estaba constatando un hecho: es imposible para un demonio. Pero Maze ve en esas palabras un desprecio a lo que ella es, porque no siente que Lucifer la tome en serio, no siente que ella le importa. Que ella importa. Para Lucifer lo hace, y mucho (de hecho, solo mirad la cara de sorpresa de Lucifer cuando Maze le habla sobre lo que siente en medio de la pelea final, él está sorprendido porque no puede entender cómo Maze puede pensar algo así). Pero no se lo dice y Maze necesita escucharlo. Todo esto seguramente termine en una larga y necesaria conversación entre los dos. Es que solo tienen que hablar. Todo se hubiese evitado si lo hubieran hecho.

Y, por supuesto, el gran secreto que Lucifer guardaba sobre Lilith. Le dio su palabra a la madre de Maze pero aquí ella también se siente traicionada por Lucifer porque merecía la verdad, ella siempre ha estado a su lado y merecía saberlo todo. Y esto me cabrea muchísimo. ¿Por qué la perra de Lilith tuvo que meter a Lucifer en este lío?

No soporto ni entiendo que abandonara a sus hijos simplemente por el placer de hacerlo y que, encima se vanaglorie de ello y haga que Lucifer esté en problemas aquí. No soporto a Lilith. Desde luego que no la entiendo ni quiero hacerlo. No se trató de miedo o de no estar preparada…simplemente se trató de un pensamiento retorcido. Maze se merece algo mucho mejor que ella. 

Por supuesto, en la construcción del viaje de Maze esta season también tiene que ver Chloe. Tras la pérdida de Lucifer y de Eva, ambas se refugian la una en la otra, creando un círculo vicioso de fiestas, alcohol, excesos y trabajo de detective. No es algo que beneficie a ninguna de las dos. Están intentando no pensar y no sentir…pero nada desaparece, deben enfrentarse a la verdad. Ese beso que Maze le da a Chloe es un intento desesperado por no perder eso cuando sentía que se le estaba de los dedos. 

Y por todo eso Chloe decide parar esa situación autodestructiva. Y ella tiene razón. Tenían que parar pero Maze también tiene razón aquí. Una cosa es que deban parar ese círculo destructivo en el que ambas están metidas y otra muy distinta que simplemente dejes sola a tu amiga y la abandones. Porque así se siente Maze, abandonada. Entiendo la necesidad de Chloe de distanciarse emocionalmente pero hay un punto medio que creo que era el correcto. 

Por supuesto, el dolor de Maze por esto no justifica lo que hace después: unirse a Miguel sabiendo que él tiene planes de jugar con Chloe y romperle el corazón. Incluso besar a Miguel para que Chloe pensara que era Lucifer. Maze siempre es demasiado…intensa con sus castigos. Va demasiado lejos. Eso estuvo mal por eso me alegré de que Chloe la enfrentara y la pusiera en su sitio. Es una conversación que duele, que le da a Maze golpe tras golpe pero es lo que Chloe tenía que hacer. 

Me gustó que más tarde Maze intentara defenderla. En cuanto se da cuenta de que Miguel intenta cruzar una línea, ella no está dispuesta a permitirlo. Y me encanta que muestre ese tipo de amistad aquí. Sin embargo, es bastante incongruente con lo que vemos antes. Fue capaz de romperle el corazón y ahora la defiende a ultranza. 

Hablando de este enfrentamiento Maze/Miguel, no me gusta cómo está planteada la escena. Maze es un demonio, experta en lucha, ha teñido contrincantes mucho mejores que Miguel y ha ganado la pelea. Aquí Miguel la vence demasiado rápido, demasiado fácil y no me gusta en absoluto porque no lo siento creíble. 

Al final, Maze también siente que Chloe la abandona, que no es importante para ella, igual que no lo fue para Lilith, para Eva, para Lucifer…es importante para todos ellos pero Maze necesita escucharlo, necesita sentirlo. 

Maze tiene a Linda, ella está allí pero, dado lo que ha pasado con los demás, Maze no puede evitar preguntarse ¿hasta cuándo? ¿Cuánto falta para que Linda también la abandone? Ella tiene un hijo que cuidar y cada vez tiene menos tiempo para ella. 

Maze intenta ser otra persona. Si no consigue importarle a nadie siendo ella…quizá siendo otra persona sí. La clave aquí es simplemente ser ella misma. La gente la ama tal cual es. Solo que ella…no lo siente así. No puede hacerlo. 

¿Qué sucede con Amenadiel? Él es el único que Maze siente que no la ha abandonado. Fue ella quien lo hizo. Quizá…él sea la respuesta para sentirse amada y necesitada, para sentir que importa. Y lo intenta, lo intenta tan duro…pero no funciona. Sin embargo, él le da cierta esperanza de que lo imposible se vuelva posible. Quizá ella pueda conseguir un alma. 

En medio de todo esto aparece Miguel. Él es el único que, a pesar de sus manipulaciones, no le ha ocultado nada (por supuesto, la ha manipulado, pero Maze no consigue verlo porque Miguel la ataca en su punto más débil). Y es el único que le ofrece lo que más desea, que no le dice que es imposible. Así que toma la decisión de aliarse con él. 

Quizá eso signifique traicionar a los demás. Pero, para Maze, creo que significa que, por primera vez, está luchando por ella, por lo que ella quiere, por lo que ella desea. No está librando las luchas de Lucifer o a expensas de lo que él necesita. Por primera vez, esta luchando por lo que ella necesita, por lo que ellaquiere. Por supuesto, no es la manera. Así que sí, entiendo a Maze aunque no estoy de acuerdo con lo que hace. 

¿SABES LO QUE SIGNIFICA NO, HERMANO?

Hablemos sobre Charlie. Por supuesto, Miguel utiliza los miedos de Amenadiel sobre él para intentar manipularlo a su antojo y casi lo consigue…hasta que, gracias a Lucifer, se da cuenta de lo que está sucediendo. 

Esta faceta de padre es algo que me ha gustado mucho ver. Las primeras experiencias, los miedos propios de simplemente ser un padre y encima, ángel. Tanto que mete la pata varias veces con Linda. No sabía que esta trama me iba a gustar tanto. Charlie tiene mi corazón en su mano, es la adorabilidad y el momento en el que Lucifer, Dan y Amenadiel (junto con el idiota del que prefiero no acordarme) están cuidándolo es muy divertido y uno de los momentos más tops de esta season. Además, cuando solo la verdadera cara de Lucifer lo calla, eso ha sido fantástico. 

Pero, al parecer, es un niño humano normal. Aunque yo no me lo creo. Este pequeño bebé es medio ángel no puede ser tan normal. En este sentido, debemos pararnos a pensar quién exactamente congeló el tiempo en los últimos minutos de la season. ¿Podría ser Amenadiel como pensó Lucifer? Quizá…pero Amenadiel nunca tuvo el poder de congelar el tiempo, solo de ralentizarlo. ¿Puede que fuera Charlie quien lo hiciera? Creo que aquí hay una historia que nos tienen que contar. 

Hablando de poderes, ¿dónde están los de Amenadiel? Es extraño que sus poderes no hayan vuelto a la misma vez que sus alas. Si el problema era estar en gracia con su padre, eso se solucionó cuando recuperó las alas, entonces, ¿por qué no puede usar su poder? Creo que quizá todo tiene que ver con el propio Amenadiel…otra historia que nos tienen que contar. 

A parte de esta trama de Amenadiel, tengo que decir que este personaje me ha gustado mucho. Es, para mi, su mejor season desde que empezó el show. Siempre había sido un personaje que simplemente estaba ahí (excepto en la season 1 que me caía fatal) pero ahora es diferente. Ahora, lo he sentido realmente parte imprescindible del show. Cada vez que aparecía aportaba calidad, ya sea con a Charlie, con su amistad con Dan (adoro a estos dos juntos), con Linda o Maze y, por supuesto, con Chloe y Lucifer. 

Siempre le estaremos agradecidos por la conversación que mantuvo con Chloe y llevó a la reconciliación Deckerstar, ¿verdad Lucifans? Y con Lucifer. Con su hermano. Siento tanto orgullo de ver la evolución de esta relación. De enemigos a comprobarse verdaderamente como hermanos. A luchar juntos. Estoy tan orgullosa que, de verdad, se me saltan las lágrimas. BROTP FOREVER!

TODOS NECESITAMOS TERAPIA 

Está claro que todos necesitan terapia, incluida la propia Linda. Esta season nos ha traído muchas sorpresas inesperadas. Creo que nadie esperaba la historia de Linda y menos aún sobre Dan. Pero es tan bueno, son tramas tan buenas, tan bien hiladas…¡bravo! 

Empecemos con Linda. Esta trama ha sido totalmente insospechada. Además la han hilado de forma magistral con Maze y también con Miguel. Él se alimentó de sus propios miedos, de sus propias culpas. Y Maze…Linda estaba intentando justificar a Lilith porque se identificaba con ella (aunque no tienen nada que ver) y es entonces cuando le suelta la bomba a Maze: ella abandonó a su hija cuando era más joven. Simplemente se fue…en ese momento Maze no puede soportarlo. 

Linda es su amiga, una buena madre, un referente, alguien a quien admirar y, de repente, es como si se hubiese caído de un pedestal. Maze está decepcionada y enfadada…pero accede a escuchar. Quizá así pueda entender lo que sintió su madre. 

La historia de Linda es desgarradora pero podemos, una parte de nosotros, comprender por lo que ella estaba pasando. Sufría depresión y era una niña a la que la vida le vino demasiado grande porque, con su edad, no se está preparada para algo así. Y se siente culpable, se siente tan culpable. Siempre piensa en ella, se preocupa por ella y la ama en silencio. Linda es todo lo contrario a Lilith que está orgullosa de lo que hizo y no cree, en absoluto, que hiciera algo reprochable. 

Por eso Maze es capaz de comprenderla, de entenderla y de ir con ella a conocer a su hija. Sin embargo, una parte de Maze quiere castigar a su madre a través de Linda. Por eso insiste tanto en que Linda se lo cuente todo a esa chica tan encantadora. Porque de alguna forma quiere que esa chica tenga la oportunidad que ella nunca tuvo pero el problema aquí es que no se trata de ella, se trata de Ariana y Linda. Se trata de que estar lista para conocer a su madre o no es algo que ella debe decidir…pero Maze tiene razón en que para eso, Adriana debe tener la oportunidad de hacerlo. 

Me encanta la forma en que Linda le deja las cosas claras a Maze. Son amigas, ella no es alguien a la que está torturando y tampoco es Lilith. Ese diálogo lo esconde todo. Linda no es Lilith. Pero Maze siente que sí porque se identifica demasiado con la historia. Al igual que me encanta esto, amo más la forma en la que ambas se consuelan al final, la escena en la que Maze se comporta como la amiga que es con Linda y le ayuda, debe darle la oportunidad a Ariana. La escena en la que Linda consuela a Maze y solo la abraza, dándole todo lo que necesita. Cariño, amor, sentir que tiene a alguien ahí, a su lado. 

Esta escena es tan desgarradora. Tan triste pero tan bonito a la vez por la preciosa amistad que se muestra. Siempre trae lágrimas a mis ojos. Cada vez que la veo. Es que…simplemente se te rompe el corazón. Se te rompe el corazón por Linda pero, sobre todo, por Maze. Quieres abrazarla y decirle que su madre es una perra sin sentimientos que no la merece y que tiene personas que la aman a su lado. 

El segundo bombazo de la season es Dan enterándose del secreto. ¡Maldito Miguel! Estaba claro que Dan iba a reaccionar mal a la verdad. No sólo porque es un shock si no porque sabe que Chloe está involucrada con él y también Trixie. ¿Pero dispararle? ¿En serio? ¡Dan, piensa un poco! Eres de gatillo fácil…

Todo parecía ir tan bien con estos dos. Habían recuperado ese tira y afloja. Ese cariño reticente que ambos se tienen que tanto echábamos de menos, y Dan y Amenadiel eran un equipo. Eran amigos. Incluso Dan le daba consejos a Lucifer sobre Chloe porque había aceptado que lo de ellos dos estaba pasando. Y gracias a Miguel todo se viene abajo. Por supuesto, Miguel se las arregla para manipular los miedos de Dan. 

Esa escena en el cementerio es triste y te rompe el corazón y te hace sonreír mientras lloras. Dan ama a Charlotte. Es el amor de su vida. Y sabe que no va a poder estar con ella, todo lo que ha hecho…solo lo va a llevar al infierno, no al cielo. Y le duele, lo mata por dentro pero está feliz. Esta feliz por Charlotte porque consiguió lo que quería, lo que merecía. Porque eso es amor, que la felicidad del otro importe más que tu mismo. 

Entonces llega Miguel y le ofrece justo lo que quiere: proteger a los suyos e ir al cielo. Confunde sus pensamientos con mentiras para hacer que Dan piense que Lucifer es el gemelo malvado. En realidad, hace algo parecido que lo que hace con Maze. 

Así que Dan, decidido, va a disparar a Lucifer. La misma Chloe lo mira a los ojos y le suplica que no lo haga, que la escuche…pero él lo hace de igual modo y aquí es cuando todos queremos matarlo. Yo entiendo a Dan, de verdad que sí, pero ¿no puede buscarse otra forma de reaccionar? Pega demasiados tiros sin pensar. Dan debería simplemente pararse un segundo y solo eso, pensar. Es que incluso Chloe le ha suplicado que no lo hiciera. Solo tiene que parar quieto un segundo. Solo respirar profundo y escuchar. 

SI CREES QUE LO ÚNICO QUE TE MERECES ES A ESE IMBÉCIL, NO ERES UN MODELO A SEGUIR 

SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK, MAZE! ¡Qué línea más buena! Maze tiene toda la razón. Ella tiene que valorarse más a sí misma y se merece un buen tío. No me gustaba nada verla de imbécil malo en imbécil malo. Mis ojos no podían soportar tanto dolor porque Ella vale mucho, es un unicornio precioso y no se valoraba como debía. El problema en todo esto es que el buen tío no lo era tanto. Todo parecía perfecto…demasiado perfecto. 

Desde la primera vez que apareció, Pete me dio mala espina. Demasiado adorable, demasiado…mono y siempre parecía saber exactamente dónde encontrar a Ella cuando no debería saberlo. Muy sospechoso. 

Y mis sospechas se confirmaron. Pero, aún así, me sorprendieron. Un aplauso para el actor que pasó de totalmente adorable a psicópata completo en un segundo. Y quiero hacerle daño por atreverse a dañar a Ella porque puede que no la haya podido dañar físicamente pero sí lo ha hecho emocionalmente. Solo hay que ver la forma en la que contiene las lágrimas cuando lo interroga y cuando se derrumba al salir de esa sala. 

La escena en la que ella lucha por su vida es escalofriante y llena de tensión pero esta escena tiene mucha fuerza. Es muy potente. Ella no le da el gusto a ese psicópata de hacerle saber lo mucho que la ha dañado, lo mucho que la ha afectado. Ella sí sentía algo por él. No es hasta que esta lejos de él que Ella se deja ir y no puede parar de llorar. Se rompe. Otro aplauso para Aimee porque hace un trabajo maravilloso. 

¿Pero realmente está rota? Yo creo que no. Tal y como Lucifer le dice a Maze, Ella es más fuerte de lo que todo el mundo piensa, más fuerte de lo que ella misma cree (amo esta línea). Este psicópata no logrará romperla. Lo pasará mal pero renacerá de sus cenizas, estoy segura. 

Y hablando de Lucifer y Ella, me encanta que por fin hayan mostrado el cariño que existe entre ambos. Lucifer siempre le ha tenido cariño pero era tan adorable y tan habladora que sucedía un poco como con Trixie, le tenía cariño pero no lo hacia notar demasiado y aparentaba que no sentía nada pero en esta season han mostrado perfectamente que Lucifer se preocupa por Ella. Él no se fiaba mucho de Pete y no le gustaba demasiado verlo alrededor de ella. Como si fuera un padre sobreprotector pero siempre confió en ella, en su fuerza y en su valentía. La señorita López es uno de los pilares de la vida de Lucifer. 

¿No pensáis que es hora de que Ella averigüe el secreto? Ahora que Dan lo sabe todo, solo queda ella. Y creo que toda esta historia de Pete hará que el personaje tenga una revolución interior parecida a su anterior crisis de fe y será cuando se entere de toda la verdad. Va a ser muy interesante y más con Dios en medio de todo esto, porque recordemos que está ahí y Ella le ha estado rezando desde que tiene uso de razón. Lo que nos lleva directamente a…

MIEDOS

La manipulación a través del miedo de Miguel da lugar a unos minutos finales de infarto. Chloe apenas puede contener su dolor ante lo que cree que es la evidencia de que Lucifer no siente lo mismo por ella, Lucifer teme perderla más que nada, Amenadiel está asustado por Charlie…y, en medio de todo eso, aparece Miguel como quien observa el mundo arder y disfruta del espectáculo. 

Es entonces cuando comienza la lucha final a la que se une Maze del lado de Miguel. Es…desgarrador ver esta escena. Lucifer contra Maze. Maze contra Lucifer. Y todo por esas palabras que ella necesita oír y Lucifer no le ha dicho…o por todo lo que le ha dicho, según se mire. Si nos fijamos bien, Lucifer no tiene intención en ningún momento de dañar a Maze, solo se defiende de sus embates. 

De hecho, tiene la oportunidad de dañarla varias veces cuando consigue hacerse con el arma y no lo hace. En todo momento se defiende hasta que al final decide dar un “puñetazo sobre la mesa” para dejarla noqueada. Pero siempre es una defensa,  un a un ataque. Me encanta ver cómo Miguel estaba dispuesto a matar a un inocente humano y Lucifer lo salva. 

A la misma vez que desgarradora, esta escena nos hace sentir orgullosos. Amenadiel y Lucifer están luchando juntos, compenetrándose, ayudándose, como verdaderos hermanos. Y esto habla del crecimiento de ambos personajes y de la relación entre ellos. Pensar en cómo empezaron y verlos ahora…es imposible no sonreír orgullosa. ¡Amamos nuestro BROTP! 

Esta lucha está tan bien ejecutada, cada movimiento, las personalidades contrapuestas de Miguel y Lucifer, el momento en el que se intentan arrancar literalmente la cara…¡y sacan las alas! El momento alas es impresionante. 

En ese momento aparece…¡Dios! El padre de ellos tres que está cansado de verlos pelear….¡y así nos dejan! Con toda la intriga, con todo hecho un desastre y con unas ganas tremendas de ver el resto de la temporada porque promete mucho. ¿A qué ha venido exactamente Dios? ¿Causará muchos problemas? Me intriga mucho la expresión de Lucifer cuando ve a su padre, de hecho, cuando dice esa palabra, “padre” la dice entre fascinado y sorprendido. Es la única reacción que nos muestran y creo que es por algo. ¿Vosotros qué pensáis?

• DECKERSTAR SON TAN ENDGAME Y LOS SHIPPEO TANTO. NECESITO AYUDA. 
• Súper orgullosa de Lucifer.
• Pero aún más de Chloe.
• Dan deja de disparar a todo el mundo que al final te vas a quedar sin amigos a los que disparar. 
• ¡Los stunts son tan cool! Cada pelea es mejor que la anterior.
• Linda durmiendo en un sofá del LUX, define diva. 
• Girl Power!
• Trixie, ¡necesitamos más Trixie! Ha estado algo desaprovechada en esta parte pero es comprensible porque no había mucho espacio donde colocarla. Espero que eso lo arreglen en la segunda parte. 
• Nos deben una conversación Lucifer y Maze.
• ¿Alguien echó de menos a Eva? Yo no. Pero quiero que Maze sea feliz.
• ¡Queremos más de Charlie!
• Listos para conocer a papi Dios. 
• Es hora de que Ella se entere de la verdad. 
• Me encanta cuando un show sabe parodiarse a sí mismo (episodio 3 te estoy mirando a ti).
• AMO la cara de diablo de Lucifer. 
• El humor de esta serie es lo mejor. 
• Las voces de Tom y Lesley con él al piano, define perfección.
• Las pulseras de la amistad.
• LA PELEA DE LUCIFER Y MIGUEL ES TAN BUENA QUE QUIERO GRITAR.
• Las escenas con alas OMG!
• Los actores, productores, guionistas…¡Bravo! ¡Gracias por esta maravilla!
• La música es simplemente perfecta esta season.
• ¡Necesitamos la season 5B ASAP!

¡Y eso es todo amigos! Hasta aquí dio de sí la season 5 de Lucifer.
